saw this specific post on the for you feed weeks ago & have been contemplating buying 1 of these e-readers ever since. are they good, can I put my random pdfs & pubs & cbrs on there. would be nice to have a small screen w no internet or other distractions for reading esp research/non-fiction
i try to not be that annoying with linux shit but whenever someone mention's any trouble with their kindle i go into "Did you know I can just drag and drop almost any kind of book/comic file to my kobo and it just works. no drm and no jailbreak needed or anything:)" mode
I love my kobo, super compact and the battery can last for ages, I definitely read more with it! One small caveat is at least once a year it becomes completely unresponsive and I have to crack the case and wiggle around the cables, brings it back every time though, 5 years and counting
(hopefully this has also been solved in newer versions of the kobo, with any luck)
so when I read abt this online there's a lot of references to like various ebook library systems (libby etc) which I assume are mostly American? is getting your books through those obligatory or can one just buy/download ebooks from anywhere (eg older works off of archive dot org etc)
