- Congratulations @expensivecare.bsky.social on your award of the Ambulance Service Medal under the Australian Honours scheme. Wonderful recognition of your outstanding contributions to paramedicine and medicine.

- Disappointing but quite predictable outcome. “Relatively few interventions for improving equity in care were identified” onlinelibrary.wiley.com/share/WXI6QM...

- Given the very long patient transfer times at ED (and likely to get worse) it may be time to redesign ambulances to enable long term care. A kitchen would be great for patients and crew as would an ensuite. Not so sure about the toilet in the kitchen.
- Great research Belinda and colleagues. Although education is a recommended remedy the best education available won’t help paramedics when the case exposure is low and there are infrequent opportunities for recertification in the care of birthing mothers and their babies. tinyurl.com/mr25bzsb

- Ambulance drivers and taxi drivers had the lowest proportion of deaths due to Alzheimer’s disease. The data also shows that they don’t live long enough to develop this disease. Not sure where paramedics fit www.bmj.com/content/387/...

- Patient care on the ramp: Who is legally responsible? “The law does not draw fine lines to answer the question of who might be legally responsible for the care of ramped patients. The answer is everyone is required to take reasonable care in the performance of their tasks.” doi.org/10.1111/1742...

- Would be useful to explore the association between compassion and analgesic administration for patients reporting pain
- I often wonder where paramedics find time for quality training in systems where there is no "down time", either because of case load, or spending most of their shifts ramped at the ED

- Limited prescribing, possibly similar to the current status in the UK. Extended roles are also on the agenda, but must occur in consultation with other health professionals who provide primary health care.

- Seems like a lot of people posting about libraries, so here is a quite nice library where I managed to get a borrower card, but was then disappointed to find not a lot on paramedicine
- Great to see that paramedics will be able to provide broader care options for the communities they serve www.premier.vic.gov.au/new-laws-del...
- Such important research. Paramedics need evidence based guidance to care for people receiving palliative care.
