- Sleep matters for joint health! In our new paper led by Dr Liz Rowlands, we studied sleep habits of 500,000 people. Osteoarthritis risk was highest with <6 hours of nightly sleep and significantly increased by shift work. acrjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
- Reposted by Farshid GuilakHonored to share our new paper, Osteoarthritis as a Systemic Disease, in @natrevrheum.nature.com, out today: rdcu.be/eSXLW - thanks to Ida Haugen, @tuhinaneogi.bsky.social and @farsh-g.bsky.social for your input on gaps and opportunities.

- Congrats to Amanda Cimino and team on her latest paper in @JCRnEDITORS - she developed new synthetic chronogenetic gene circuits that allow controlled drug delivery at precise times day using various elements of the circadian clock! doi.org/10.1016/j.jc...
- Huge congrats to Dr. Amanda Cimino for an outstanding presentation and defense - her committee said it was time for a "PhD+" degree. Amazing work!

- Most studies of cartilage mechanobiology study the upregulation of chondrocyte gene expression and biosynthesis with mechanical loading. Check out our recent paper where Daniel Palmer studied the down-regulated "mechanome" with Piezo1 or TRPV4 activation. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....

- We’ve created a new field called “chronogenetics”: controlling gene expression with the cell’s internal clock! Lara Pferdehirt & Anna Damato made living implants that sync to the body & automatically deliver biological drugs on a 24 hr cycle. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
- On #RareDiseaseDay, we are excited to publish Zainab Harissa's paper showing that rare, dysplasia-causing mutations in the ion channel TRPV4 alter the response of chondrocytes to mechanical loading. journals.physiology.org/doi/abs/10.1...
- Check out the latest insights on what controls pericellular matrix properties (measured by atomic force microscopy) as it is degraded in OA. fantastic collaboration with Marina Danalache. Congrats to Jule Nieuwstraten for leading this study!
