- When creating the “Sea Shelter” artwork I deliberately kept the colour palette quite plain and subtle. Apart from the strong red and yellow on the signs. This was to help give a cold drab feel to the artwork like a cold winters day. #EastSussexart #photocollage #Hastings #stleonards
- Here is my digital Christmas card for this year. Wishing you all a Merry Holiday and Happy New Year.
- Adding Battle Abbey to the artwork helps draw your eye through the artwork. I added in the different parts and pavements to the artwork, by having different colours and textures help break these different sections up. #EastSussexart #photocollage #BattleAbbey #Battletown
- “Flower. Power.” was created during the Covid pandemic, because of this I had to be creative as I was only using photographs I’ve taken for other artworks in the past and photographs from my garden. #eastsussexartists #Romneymarsh #Windturbine
- I will be taking part alongside other PhotoHastings members in Hastings Book Fair. This event is taking place at Observer Building in Hastings on Saturday the 14th September from 11am to 4pm. www.k6photography.com/hastings-book-fair #HastingsBookFestival #Hastings
- I’ve created this sketch to help work out what else would work being added to the artwork. Also to get a rough idea where these objects could be placed. In particular focusing on the street furniture. #EastSussexart #Battletown
- My next step was to reposition the building slightly to reduce the number of gaps between the buildings. I’ve added in another building because of the fact that before, the artwork felt slightly lopsided with more buildings on the top row on one side than the other. #BattleAbbey #Battletown
- As I’m cutting out the different buildings for this artwork, I’m seeing how the different gaps between the buildings are showing you glimpses into the second row of buildings. I feel this effect is starting to work well. #EastSussexart #photocollage #BattleAbbey
- I am busy getting ready for “New Road Artists Spring Open Studios” where I will be exhibiting my artworks. Alongside “The Studio” at “Rye Creative Centre” taking place on Saturday 17 May from 10am to 4pm www.k6photography.com/new-road-artists-spring-open-studios #EastSussexart #openStudios #Rye
- “De La Warr Pavilion Staircases” - from the beginning I was moving more out of my creative comfort zone. “De La Warr Pavilion, Piazza and Beach” were just as much inspired by the landscape around De La Warr as the building itself. #EastSussexart #photocollage #Bexhill #DeLaWarr
- Whilst taking photographs for this artwork, I realised how much alleyways inside roads are an important feature of Battle. So I made sure there were couple of spaces where the viewers can see in between different buildings. #EastSussexart #artworkprocess #BattleAbbey
- Title Along the yellow brick path I like the way your eyes quickly drawn towards the art galleries. I find it interesting how each town seems to have its own style and how this makes each place instantly recognisable. #EastSussexart #photocollage #Hastings #Bexhill #Eastbourne
- I think the main reason that different floors don’t look completely separated from each other is the way the spiral staircase draws your eyes through the whole “De La Warr Pavilion Staircases” artwork. #photocollage #DeLaWarr #Bexhill #EastSussex
- It is interesting how having another look at “Beach. Huts.” it looks like a longer image because a lot of the beach is left empty of objects. Whereas in “Gone Fishing”, because you can see more of the skyline this helps give the impression that the fishing boats are further down the beach.
