- Reposted by linbriceIn Puerto Rico there are 29 species of Chiton & its thought the area with the greatest diversity of polyplacophores in the Caribbean. I believe this one is Acanthopleura granulata, commonly called the West Indian fuzzy chiton (as if I could love them any more!!)

Fiddler crabs Left/right - it doesn’t matter what side but one is always an enlarged claw or major cheliped, & they are used for drumming/waving when they see a female. The smaller one is for feeding so they have to work twice as hard as the females who have 2 similar small sized claws
