- From what I saw in the Cork North Central boxes at the tally this morning the spoiled votes were a mix of genuine mistakes and intentional spoils, just like usual, but they were not all one group and shouldn’t be seen as that. Many unhappy from traditional parties choosing to spoil too. #Áras25

- Minister Buttimer doing everything possible to deflect and deny that his party’s government has not done anywhere enough to change driver behaviour or to reduce car use for over a decade now. 🙄 #rtept #speirgoirm #spéirghoirm
- Fake account, unfollowed. Seriously, any large account over on the bird site needs to at least make placeholders here to prevent this.

- Bit of contradictory info on the Met Éireann site atm. The area forecast for Cork City says Red up to midday Friday but “advisory” says 2am to 10am. Is it localised further than the 3 counties, an update in times or a mistake? @carlowweather.bsky.social #SpéirGorm #SpéirGhoirm #StormÉowyn
- Reposted by Sinéad Halpin1 year after the introduction of a generalized 30 km/h limit in Bologna, the results are quite encouraging. For the first time since systematic data has been collected (1991), there has been zero (zero!) pedestrian killed in a road accident in 2024. www.comune.bologna.it/notizie/citt...

- Trying to check a status of a power outage for a friend (who has turned off all internet, saving phone battery) & the link from the Power Outages page of the ESB site leads to a 404 error with a URL likely last updated in 2021. The map is great but this is not good 😬 #SpéirGorm #SpéirGhorm #Sneachta

- First time out on the bike this year, a doctors appt, cinema for sing a long Wicked & then picking up some food. It’s like the pizza wrapper was made for my front rack (it still has its lights cos it’s still Christmas!) 🤣 Normal day, normal bike ride. #BikeSky #Bikes #BetterByBike #Cork #CorkCity
- "A pedestrian isn't going to kill a motorist but a motorist will kill a pedestrian very easily. A pedestrian hit by a car travelling at 30km per hour, they've a 95% survival rate but when (the speed of the car) goes up to 45 km per hour its reduced to 50%.” But when change is suggested we’ve this
- Remember these statistics when the usual “change nothing” talking heads get airtime to object to the lowering of speed limits or red light cameras or placement of speed vans or … (ad infinitum) #SpéirGorm #SpéirGhorm

- It’s infuriating that this may not get the attention it deserves the details are coming out over Christmas. The RSA also put the (completely reasonable) criticism down to “August “silly season” treatment” which is horribly insulting imo. #SpéirGorm #SpéirGhorm
- This is such an awful story. Years ago a family also drowned in their vehicle, we were living in Tivoli near a few slipways so I bought a combination glass breaker/seatbelt cutter, I still keep one, just in case. No one knows if it would have helped in this case or others but it’s there just in case.
- Setting up a Meta Quest is a special kind of hell. It’s like Meta don’t want you to use it, I’d skip this entire gen of tech until it’s more user friendly but eldest saved up all his pocket money to get a 2nd hand headset all on his own-y-o & we got the controllers for him as a #Christmas24 gift.
- More boring everyday things done by bike, this time around it’s collecting the food pre order for Christmas Day dinner. Absolutely delighted to be able to park so close to the shop and to be able to pop home straight afterwards. Happy Christmas #BikeSky #CorkCity #SpeirGorm #SpéirGhorm

- Reposted by Sinéad HalpinWhere bike-friendly infrastructure is the norm, kids gain freedom. No car keys, no backseat waiting. They learn independence, time management, and how to get around on their own. A small shift in how we design cities helps them grow into confident, capable adults.

- This! I’ve never been in danger from another person on a bike,I’ve had a tiny few near misses with pedestrians coming onto the road but being put in danger by a car/van driver is a weekly thing. There’s no protected cycle lanes on my route,I’m always mixed with drivers. #BikeSky #SpéirGorm #CorkCity

- It’s frustrating that no matter the reason RTÉ will readily give Michael O Leary an opportunity to voice his personal grievances about Dublin Airport, he himself is saying that there’s no additional demand for flights due to the Hollyhead closure. #TodayCB #SpéirGorm
- My eldest loves cycling, he's ten, mostly cycles on the footpath (slowly, considerately). He's eager to have some independence, this driver behaviour is why he can't have that, yet. "We ask everyone outside of the car to be safe so that drivers can be dangerous" @tomflood.bsky.social #CorkCity
