- Hive mind: IODP data reports or Data in Brief? Data in Brief has a publication fee. Other journal alternatives for data reports of results without interpretation and without publication fees? Thx

- Crossover cores are the best cores @melissaberke.bsky.social. Get to mix it up and see the other shift's crew. Who are these people awake on the other side of the clock?
- Really enjoyed figuring out this story with Dr. Mark Peaple and our salty lake team - while the Pliocene warmth is famous, deep lakes filled in SoCal during the M2 glacial pluvial, biomarkers say. Open access doi.org/10.1029/2023...
- Hey hey welcome @valiergaly.bsky.social ⚒️ 🧪
- Lots of fish as the drill bit goes down to find the hole on IODP exp401, earlier today but been a bit busy
- Christoph Haeggi's postdoc in my lab yielded a second paper, this one focused on plant wax d13C measured in soils on a transect N of Sao Paolo Uni-collab: Using Multi-Homologue Plant-Wax Carbon Isotope Signatures to Reconstruct Tropical Vegetation Types DOI: 10.22541/essoar.170317317.79940329/v1
- Sunrise and vigorous fresh air for night shift of IODP Exp401 on the JR
- Moonlighting in the microfossil lab on Exp401 - foram washing takes me back to year 1 of grad school in @pdemenocal.bsky.social lab. Playing with mud and sprayers is always fun!
- Christmas sunrise on the helideck, drilling apace on Hole B IODP Exp401
- What is the JR Exp401 currently drilling? Hole B to fill gaps in recovery from Hole A including the mission critical Messinian.🤞 All we want for Xmas is a complete record of MSC. ⚒️
- Does all y'all's universities have a habit of sending out teaching evaluations on the day before Christmas? Or is it just USC that has this festive tradition?

- @melissaberke.bsky.social and I worked tag team around the clock to do all the coulometry on the first hole of #Exp401 #IMMAGEland2sea. Weighing on waves requires patience, which apparently we both have lots of!
- Snapped this one yesterday, day shift Simon has an office with a view for morning emails. #TheJR #Exp401 #IMMAGEland2sea

- You know you've made it when you've got a corner office desk at sea @dirtmossart.bsky.social!
- I am getting in the holiday spirit while doing editorial work while at off-shift at sea. My review requests are going out today onward with the following: **Of course feel free to email the journal if you would like a routine 2 week extension over the holidays.** Thank you!
- We arrived at our first station. All went still. The metal whirr began almost instantly. Interpreting sounds heard for the first time, sequestered in the hull.
- A warm welcome to @dirtmossart.bsky.social. Kellan is a medical science illustrator and outreach officer aboard #IODP #TheJR #Exp401 #IMMAGEland2sea.
- Captain Harm gave a tour of the bridge and 2 hrs later we were still keeping an eye on the ship that was not in it's lane (it was in the lane for hazardous cargo). It is crowded out here at sea, four lane highways of commuting traffic!
- After several days of training aboard the JOIDES Resolution, I wake up to profound sadness that this ship is retiring and that we are losing all this amazing expertise aboard, the staff and systems are incredible.
