- 🚨Publication alert 🚨 My latest article has now been published in ESTS. The paper explicates the creative labor required to reconcile incompatible informational logics in contemporary policing by retracing how crime analysts turn narrative reports into analyzable data. tinyurl.com/4w24mbjz (OA)
- The final 2025 issue of @jird-jour.bsky.social comes packed with great articles - and it will also be the last of its kind, as the journal transitions to a new publication model. Read for yourself 👇
- 🚨Publication alert🚨 My latest article is now out in IPS. The paper analyzes how the EU tries to make its internal security databases more trustworthy. I argue that “trust in data” is not natural or automatic but something that is actively built through political priorities and technical practices.
- Last time I was at the @eui-eu.bsky.social was - checks personal archives - twelve years ago 😵 Now I feel old. But at least the view is as stunning as I remembered 🖤

- For the annual team hike of the ETH Zurich Technology and Governance research group, this year we tackled the famous five lakes route at Pizol. And after two years of bad weather luck, this time we caught a magnificent day ☀️ I believe it's safe to say that the entire team had fun 😊
- As editors-in-chief, @dagmarvorlicek.bsky.social and I are extremely proud that @jird-jour.bsky.social is now for the first time ever ranked in Q1 of International Relations journals 💥 Clearly, we owe this to our predecessors, as we only took over in January 2025 - but good news is good news ❤️
- Thinking about publishing with JIRD? Now you have all the more reason to do so! According to this year’s Journal Citation Reports, we are 🏆 in Q1 🏆 with an Impact Factor of 2.5, 🏆 ranking 28th out of 169 in International Relations. 📄 👉 Submit your article with us here: shorturl.at/GdAUM

- 🚨Publication alert🚨 We compare national quantum technology governance strategies with expert insights, showing that while both emphasize innovation and infrastructure, national frameworks underplay critical ethical, societal, and security concerns. Full OA: link.springer.com/article/10.1...
