- Adaptive technology within the home is a lifeline for disabled women. But it can also be weaponised by abusive partners Too often, disabled survivors who report concerns are dismissed by agencies, who believe their abusive partners over them. Read our latest blog > refuge.org.uk/news/when-te...
- This #BHM we will be sharing stories of power and pride from survivors, supporters and staff. Both misogyny and racism are deeply-rooted across society, causing unacceptable barriers for Black women reporting abuse. Deeply entrenched misogynoir devalues Black survivors and dismisses their trauma.
- Throughout October, we’ll be sharing the experiences of Black survivors, highlighting the work of our Lambeth refuge supporting women of African and Caribbean heritage, and spotlighting the work of specialist Black by-and-for-organisations.
- No woman should live in fear. Too often, the voices of Black survivors left out of vital conversations around domestic abuse.
- Refuge exists to support women who are experiencing domestic abuse. When you’re ready, we’re here to support you. You can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline for free, 24/7 on 0808 2000 247.

- Refuge has repeatedly raised urgent concerns about the devastating impact Crown Court backlogs are having on survivors of domestic abuse. Court delays are deeply traumatic for many survivors, and women often tell Refuge they feel let down by the very system that is supposed to protect them. (1/2)
- As it stands, the judiciary’s understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse remains insufficient, improved judicial training is absolutely essential. Domestic abuse is a serious crime, and if perpetrators are not held accountable, lives will be put at risk. (2/2) refuge.org.uk/news/leveson...
