Media layoffs are always infuriating but the ones happening today at WaPo are especially enraging.
Feb 4, 2026 17:23Cancelled my subscription. I see no point now given what was gutted in this process, the value just isn't there. Maybe that makes me part of "the problem," but you need to put out a useful product for me to pay for it and these moves actively undermine that proposition.
My way to not be ”part of the problem” is to use that money to instead support good independent journalism (404 media, propublica, etc)
