- What the absolute fsck.
- You should read the article by David M. Perry (@lollardfish.bsky.social ) in today's Star Tribune. People (e.g. Minnesota's governor, Tim Walz) have compared the experience of children in ICE-struck areas to that of Anne Frank; Perry asks what such analogies should drive us to do. 1/11
- Historical analogies are arguments. So when someone makes an analogy between today and the Holocaust, or today and anything, think about they are really arguing for. What is the analogy trying to get you to do? New at @startribune.com

- Another great thread 🧵 by Michael Harriot
- "The fake [Australian Federal Police] set is among many rooms staged to resemble offices for police forces from around the world, including China, Singapore, Brazil, India, Indonesia and Vietnam."
- To think the Dalmation pelican could be spotted once again.
- Horrifying(*) new Australian predator with "venom glands in their long, pincer-like fingers" just dropped. (*) if you are extremely tiny.
- Reposted by Joe SlaterBeyond confirming that DOJ attorney Julie Le said, "I wish you would just hold me in contempt of court so I can get 24 hours of sleep," the reporter adds now that she is an ICE attorney who volunteered to help with the habeas cases, but "We have no guidance or direction on what we need to do."

- Even if there hadn't been so much evidence: sexual abuse in war, sexual abuse of prisoners, sexual abuse in every hierarchical relationship should, by now, be anticipated. The people who deny reports of it should be doubly ashamed of themselves.

- I found this grimly amusing: "Trump offered Zelenskyy security guarantees the Ukrainian president described as “Nato-like”, akin to the alliance’s Article 5 commitment…"
- An apparently free article whose point may IMO come to be even more widely relevant than it is at present.

- I don't know anything about this case, specifically, but people here on BlueSky made similar arguments about hypocrisy after the Bondi massacre, and it was very alarming.
