- Reposted by Tashan ReedThe Washington Post has covered the local football team for more than 89 years. Unfortunately, and almost unfathomably, I don't know whether that coverage will continue -- or in what form. It was an honor to play a small role in that coverage, alongside @tashanreed.bsky.social.
- I've been laid off as part of The Washington Post's job cuts today. This is an incredibly sad day, not just for my colleagues and I, but for journalism as a whole. While I'm not sure what's next, I know I'll bounce back and continue to elevate.
- The NFL is now down to just 3 Black head coaches. And Mike McDaniel, who identifies as biracial, and Eric Bieniemy are currently the only offensive coordinators of Black descent in the league.
- Despite that, the injury rate on kickoffs was lower than it was with the previous rules.
- The NFL kickoff return rate went up from about 32% in 2024 to almost 75% in 2025.
- ACL injuries were down about 25% in the NFL this year, a 7-year low. Concussions were "up a bit" according to NFL EVP, player health & safety Jeff Miller.

- Reposted by Tashan ReedThe Lions had put in a formal request to interview Blough for their own OC vacancy, I'm told. The #Commanders clearly didn't want to risk letting him walk. Make no mistake: This is a bold move by Dan Quinn ahead of a pivotal third year.

- Peters said the #Commanders would be open to trading the No. 7 pick to amass more draft capital. They have just two picks in the first four rounds.
- Peters said Tunsil was "one of the better, if not the best" left tackles in the NFL this season. He said the #Commanders want to get an extension done with him "sooner rather than later."
- Peters acknowledged his history of mostly sticking to short-term deals, but said the #Commanders "don't have any aversion" to signing players to long-term deals in free agency. They're projected to have about $79.4M in cap space according to Over the Cap, and can create more.
- Dorance Armstrong and Javontae Jean-Baptiste are the only defensive ends/edge rushers currently under contract.

- The #Commanders will beat the Eagles and finish the season 5-12. They'll pick No. 7 in the first round of the 2026 draft. On to a huge offseason for GM Adam Peters, HC Dan Quinn and company.
- Reposted by Tashan ReedJake Moody, who doinked it off the right upright from 24 yards, hits from 56 at the end of the half to put the #Commanders up 10-7. Lots of chances to evaluate guys today for Washington, and kicker is a big one. The more data points with Moody, the better.
- Reposted by Tashan ReedJeremy Reaves won't have many easier picks than that. It's his first INT since 2020, believe it or not. The #Commanders now have 10 takeaways on the season. They need two more to equal the previous low in franchise history (12 in 2006).
- Reposted by Tashan ReedHard to draw too many meaningful conclusions from this one, given the circumstances, but impressive stuff from the #Commanders offense early. Drives of 79 and 65 yards on the first two possessions. 3 of 5 on 3rd and 4th downs. Should be up, instead tied 7-7.
- It's been a rough year for Martin, who entered this week allowing 15 yards per target (worst in the NFL) according to Pro Football Reference. The next closest player was allowing 12.6 yards per target.

- The #Commanders (4-12) hold pick No. 6 in the 2026 draft ahead of kickoff against the Eagles. If they win, they'll drop to pick No. 7. If they lose, they could climb higher.
- Reposted by Tashan ReedGreetings from Week 18, y'all. For pre-game reading ahead of the season finale, here are some of my favorite reads from our #Commanders coverage this year...
- Giants and Browns are winning in the early window. If that holds, the #Commanders would climb up the draft order with a loss to the Eagles today.
- The last one of my first year on the #Commanders beat, and Year 6 covering the NFL overall. Appreciate y'all following along the way this season ✊🏽
- "We’ve got to figure out who we are, as a team," Jeremy Reaves said. “You can’t wait until someone punches you in the face to realize, ‘Hey, I’m fighting now.’ … You’ve got to just prepare in camp like you’re about to get ready for the fight of your life, because you are.”

- The #Commanders have played Tyler Biadasz (knee/ankle) on season-ending injured reserve.
- Where the 2026 draft order stands going into Week 18:
- The #Commanders could end up picking as high as No. 2 in the 2026 draft, but they have no plans of tanking. Why? It's not in their DNA. And as important as draft order is, their ability to evaluate talent is what'll dictate their future 🔗⤵️ www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2025/...
