- Congrats to our lab’s newest PhD’s: Dr. Zitong Lu & Dr. Yong Min Choi! @zitonglu.bsky.social is off to postdoc at MIT w/ @nancykanwisher.bsky.social & @evfedorenko.bsky.social; @yongminchoi.bsky.social is off to postdoc at Dartmouth w/ @violastoermer.bsky.social Will really miss these 2, so proud 🥳
- #VSS2025 Come check out Min’s super cool talk Tues 6pm! He cleverly uses voxel-wise predictive encoding models to compare different forms of remapping across the human brain @vssmtg.bsky.social
- Tomorrow at 6 pm, I will be presenting my work on pre-saccadic remapping in the human visual cortex, revealed by voxel-wise encoding model on fMEI data (Talk 55.13 at Talk room 1). Please visit and share your thoughts 😊 @juliedgolomb.bsky.social
- Congrats to former JGLab undergrad @avaaaaran.bsky.social for her first-author publication! What a cool undergrad thesis project, with grad mentor @zitonglu.bsky.social. Keep an eye out for both of these early career stars!
- My first paper w/ @zitonglu.bsky.social & @juliedgolomb.bsky.social! Our study shows that object identity judgments for a moving object are biased by both same exact location and predictable trajectories, with object-location binding remaining primarily retinotopic—even after one saccade.

- This is a vile move. All the more disgusting and infuriating that it’s being framed about “protecting” Jewish students. You know what’s actually anti-Semitic? using Jews as pawns in this disgusting fascist theatre. Don’t take the bait and let it divide us. 😡
- Drop your favorite Stand Up for Science slogans / homemade signs here! I’ll be at the @standupforscience.bsky.social rally in Columbus tomorrow! Please consider joining us if you’re local, or find your closest rally site in your state! Numbers matter. Science matters.

- Sharing in case this is useful for others in a similar role. Today I taught my undergrad Intro Cog Neuro class about indirects and research grant funding. Some details:
- (1) I always teach about how cogneuro research works, so I incorporated this in a course-related and carefully non-partisan way (important for those of us at public univs). (2) Of the >100 students, only a handful of them had any prior idea what’s been going on and that/how this affects them.
- (3) They were grateful to be informed. They asked good questions. Many were visibly shocked. There are no articles in the campus newspaper, and clearly it’s not in their echo chambers.
