The Acts of Paul and Thecla tells of Thecla, a noblewoman who defies family and society after hearing Paul preach chastity. Resisting marriage and surviving martyrdom, she becomes a preacher and healer. She notably baptized herself.

I love Paul. His writings have made faith something I really find pleasurable. I am a universalist (at least theologically), and I’ve been influenced by Badiou and Agamben.
