Da Bears
Cross-posting Chicago Bears tweets so you don’t have to keep your X account. Only supplementing Bears reporters active on Bluesky, so be sure to follow them first.
Please excuse any tardiness. I’m a fan with a job, etc., doing this in my free time.
- DJ Moore was asked about the overtime interception against the Rams, called it a miscommunication.
- Bears Top 10 defensive plays of the season (Plays 10 through 6):
- Seattle Seahawks safety Julian Love grew up in Chicago. Jarrett Payton asked him a question at Super Bowl media night, and Love recalled a memory of Jarrett talking to his Pee Wee football team around the age of 9. (video via Jarrett Payton @paytonsun on Instagram/ @paytonsun.bsky.social)

- New episode of 1920 Football Drive 👇
- Jay Glazer says Maxx Crosby is likely leaving the Raiders. Schefter reported back at the trade deadline that the Bears inquired about Myles Garrett. If/when Crosby is on the market, probably a safe bet the Bears would also have some interest, depending on the Raiders’ asking price of course.
- A star was born
- Devin Hester, 19 years ago today
- TreVeyon Henderson thought he was getting picked by the Bears, and then his heart sunk when the caller said they were the Patriots (via CHGO)
- Shonny showin out
- KB INT
- Jonathan Jones: The Bears requested to interview Bengals WR coach Troy Walters for their offensive coordinator position but he declined, source tells NFL on CBS. Walters, who's had multiple OC looks the last few years, will stay in Cincy with hopes to win with one of the best units in football.
- Rapoport: The #Bears have requested to interview Connor Senger for their offensive coordinator position, source said. Senger is Arizona’s pass game specialist and called plays in last week’s East-West Shrine Bowl. He interviewed for the Bills and Packers QB jobs last weekend.
- Excellent picture chosen.
- Via Hoge & Jahns, Kevin Byard III reiterates there’s mutual interest in returning to the Bears
- Reposted by Da BearsOne note before the Pro Bowl Games on Tuesday: Jets QB Justin Fields was asked to participate, I’m told. He declined, focusing on his offseason training.
- Cole Kmet on the reality of vets on the team potentially being traded
- Regarding Trapilo's injury, one thing I haven't seen discussed yet is moving Darnell Wright to LT. RTs are generally easier to find and less expensive than LTs. Last offseason, Ryan Poles said "[Wright] clearly has the ability to play left and right... That was part of the value in [drafting him]."
- Kevin Byard III and Nahshon Wright went on a Pro Bowl scavenger hunt
- Bears coaches will convene next week to discuss their evaluation of the current roster, according to Brad Biggs. Bears will have to make some moves after that to create cap space, prior to March 11 free agency. Overthecap is probably your best resource for possible cuts, trades, and restructures:
- Squad 😎
- Checkin' in from Pro Bowl practice 👋
- Kevin Byard, Nahshon Wright, & family have touched down in San Francisco for the Pro Bowl Games

- Names being floated by reporters as potential next Bears OC: Tanner Engstrand, Press Taylor, JT Barrett, Antwaan Randle El. I'd also keep in mind Ben Johnson intentionally hired quite a few coaches last year that he didn't have a history with to create a mix of perspectives, including Doyle.

- Field Yates: Declan Doyle becomes the third member of the Bears organization hired to a larger role this offseason: Assistant GM Ian Cunningham is now the Falcons GM RB coach Eric Bienemy returned to the Chiefs as their OC Doyle takes on play-calling duties as the Ravens OC
- According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Bears will not be getting compensatory picks for Atlanta’s hire of Ian Cunningham.
- Schefter: ESPN sources: Falcons are hiring Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham as their general manager.
- You get a takeaway. You get a takeaway. You allllll get a takeaway. 🫵
- Via Jeremy Fowler, the nominees for the NFL's first Protector of the Year award: Broncos OT Garett Bolles Dolphins C Aaron Brewer Chiefs C Creed Humphrey Broncos OG Quinn Meinerz Bears OG Joe Thuney Lions OT Penei Sewell
- Biggs: It’s possible that replacing Eric Bieniemy is the only change to the coaching staff.
- D’Andre Swift put on a show this year 🌟
- Draft season is upon us. Multiple reporters say Ryan Poles was at Senior Bowl practice yesterday in Mobile, Alabama. Here he is with ESPN’s Field Yates on his right. Picture via ScoutD on X. Senior Bowl practices are being televised on NFL Network this week, if you’re yearning for some football.
- Jeremy Fowler: Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham will do a second, in-person interview for the Atlanta Falcons general manager job this week, per source. Cunningham also was a finalist for Atlanta’s president of football job that went to Matt Ryan.
