- Queen of the Dark Things by @crobertcargill.bsky.social 1- how to present complex, world building without info dumping. 2- the effect of dialogue tags on immersion and connection 3- difference in conflict scales and stakes- personal vs third-party vs global. How to balance them. 4-effective prose
- An intense film spanning setpiece that does not let go till the credits roll. Anxiety inducing in its realism. Garland & Mendoza team up to deliver action without forcing convoluted plots & forced character humour or even arcs. Boiling everything down to its essence. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JER0...
- Despite the film's flaws, I appreciate the ambitious big swings they took with this sequel and the series as a whole. Brilliant cinematography at times, kinetic editing and a tone that harkens to adventures like the Last of Us/ Made in Abyss. Looking forward to Bone Temple. #oscarseasons #filmsky
- Easily the best film this year. I said Legend of Hiei 2 was the animated film to beat, and CSM -Reze said "Hold my grenade." The cinematography alone blew me away far less the insane action. And I knew this arc, I read it twice, and it still floored me. Next arcs will nuts youtu.be/d1n552v1ng0
- What I find amusing about this "Street Fighter is supposed to goofy" rhetoric. Is that people ignore the nuanced balance that anime has established between grounded, eloquent sincerity and bombastic, balls to wall ultra violence. Like the two can't exist. CSM Reze is great reminder, u can do both.
- End of an Era. Despite its flaws, Final Reckoning delivers a masterclass in stunts and setpieces. I especially note the effects of sequential mini arc plot structure for large ensembles like this. Some of the cinematography is going to be in my head rent free too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9Mg...
- Haven't seen CSM Reze or Demon Slayer Infinity Castle yet (read both manga events though). But, this animated movie is the one to beat for me. Great world building that adds from the first film and the action is balls to wall. (The Camera work especially! www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7e-...
- Yorgos does not miss. Definitely his take on *redacted* but with excellent colors and shot composition. Also a great commentary on echo chambers, much like Eddington earlier this year. Jesse Plimons and Emma Stones give great performances as well. #oscarseasons #filmsky youtu.be/bd_5HcTujfc
- A comedic, intense & brutal look at the realities of revolution and how past sins shape future generations. PTA drops us into a heightened reality that harkens the past but presents our current circumstance. Great editing and cinematography too. #oscarseason #filmsky www.youtube.com/watch?v=feOQ...
- A comedic yet brutal commentary on capitalism and how it can force or even expand people 's bad decisions despite having noble intents. Excellent cinematography and editing. Another banger by Park Chan-Wook. I think this officially kicks off Oscar Season for 2025. #filmsky
- www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKZp... this one is highly anticipated. Also premiering in Oscar season? lets go.
- No Gods. No Monsters by @cadwellturnbull.bsky.social 1- a masterclass in multiple POVs, in characters & types (3rd person limited, omiscient & 1st person) 2- the effect of fantasy to present real-world themes. 3- how to give character history effieciently and effectively. 4-emotion vs events
- Arguably the best isekai I've ever seen and a juggernaut of grimdark/ urban fantasy. Great world-building, scale & characters. And the magic system is a veritable chasm. Also blessed with insane production value, every scene means something. Will read the books. www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8p-...
- youtu.be/QqSUI4mpDrA this is the best discourse I've heard behind this book so far.
- It's executing complete arcs just as envisioned or even better. I still have a long ways to go but I have 9 issues in between 2 titles. I hope to build more on this foundation and meet my audiences expectations.
- Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy Lessons: 1-purple prose as a means to make the setting a character 2- the effect of punctuation to immerse the reader in a time and space, pros & cons 3- the effect focusing on setting and immersion has on plot and character connection 4-characters as symbols 📚
- It's Spooky voodoo season and it would be remiss to not drop some more scenes from Bimshire. Here is Isaac during his midnight concert as Shaggy Bears dance before raising havoc. Check out more about them at offsetseries.com #caribbeansky #bajansky #comicsky #illustratorsky 💙📚 🪐📚🌴📚 🌴🎨

- 2025 is another great year for horror. But this film is a standout. Incredible cinematography. The narrative design is also great and I dug the aesthetic. The villain also reminds me of Ms. Pringle from Offset lol. The ending might put off some people tonally though www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpTh...
- The sanest Ari Aster film to date. Also not just a covid film but a masterclass in perspective and commentary of echo chambers in society especially in the West. Also, Ari Aster is great at action, I'd like to see more of that from him one day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL6j...
- This is the first time I felt Fantastic Four worked in live action. Love the retro future setting, and tbh the tone matches the source material. Also the chase sequence with silver surfer was insane. Reminiscent of Jack Kirby and Interstellar. Also Franklin Richards! www.youtube.com/watch?v=18QQ...
- Finally saw this one. Dynamic action and I like the classic superman feel (felt like a Saturday morning cartoon brought to live action). This might turn off some people due to the deluge of events and off beat setpieces (anti matter rivers & black holes anyone?) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox8Z...
- Salems Lot by @stephenking.bsky.social 1- how to present theme using language and structure. 2- a masterclass in multiple POV to denote scale and cinema without sacrificing emotion and connection. 3- the best epilogues I've read to date 4-how to subvert genres through presentation 🪐📚 💙📚

- www.youtube.com/watch?v=saUF... Snowfall Season 3 is an absolute masterpiece. Trimming the fat in terms of multiple plot lines and focusing on character, theme and EMOTION. Prime TV for sure.
