- Abs are in the routine again. While it is true that abs are made in the kitchen, I would recommend adding them to your routine if you’re not doing a lot of heavy compound movements. I rarely train abs but I built a very strong core over the years doing the big 3 lifts. 1/3
- If you’re looking for ab exercises to throw in to your workout I would suggest something you can progressively overload (adding resistance, sets, and/or reps). They’re just like any other muscle so you should train them in a similar fashion (also train them consistently). 2/3
- Some good exercises that I personally like are cable crunches, leg raises, and ab wheel rollouts. This is just my opinion but I wouldn’t waste your time with planks. It’s not a dynamic movement (isometric hold with no concentric or eccentric movement). 3/3
- A hack for your hack squats. Use yoga blocks for a greater/full range of motion.
