Almonry Museum
A beautiful C14th building in the heart of Evesham, housing the town museum, Tourist Information Centre and Gift Shop. www.almonryevesham.org
- We hope you're all having a fabulous Half Term! We've been going through an old What's On guide from 1926. Did you know Evesham used to have its own outdoor pool? We've also found a picture of this old hotel in a 1921 Evesham Regatta programme. Can you identify the building? It's still there
- Looking for something to keep the children entertained? Why not visit your fabulous local museum?! We've lots to do and see so pay us a visit. We're open Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm including Good Friday and Easter Monday. Can't wait to see you 🐰
- Huge THANK YOU! to the Vale of Evesham Civic Society for their incredible donation of £2187 to the Almonry Restoration Project. The Society are selling limited edition prints by artist Lesley Brockbank. You can buy copies directly from the Society or visit us to see the prints and pick up details.
- 2024 is almost over and the Almonry team need a well deserved break! The Almonry is now closed for the Christmas holidays. Thanks to everyone for making 2024 so special. It's been a big year and 2025 will be even more exciting. We look forward to welcoming you back from Monday 6th January 2025
- #ObjectOfTheWeek Not so much an object as an event. This week it's the Battle of Evesham under the spotlight. On 4th August 1265, Evesham bore witness to a battle that was referred to by a contemporary chronicler, as 'The murder of Evesham, for battle it was none'.
- Museum folks, which online survey platform have you found the most successful and user friendly?
- #ObjectOfTheWeek This week we're looking at the growth of Evesham. In 1604 Evesham was granted it's first Town Charter, this one is an updated version from 1605. The charter gave Evesham certain rights and privileges including raising taxes, holding a market and even the right to erect a gallows.
- #ObjectOfTheWeek This week we're keeping it local. Any guesses as to what these are? The Vale of Evesham is famous for Market Gardening and particularly Aspargus. Did you know Evesham Asparagus has PGI status like Champagne and Melton Mowbray Pork Pies? These are a Gras Box and a Gras Knife.

- #ObjectOfTheWeek This week we're going bling with our Anglo Saxon burial. This beautiful collection was found by a Metal Detectorist and includes Saucer Brooches, shield bosses, and spears. The key object has to be this stunning Cruciform Brooch, followed by a string of gorgeous Amber beads.
- Museum Manager goes away for the weekend.... Just can't leave the Museums and Galleries alone can you? #VanGogh #Exhibition #Gallery #London
- What's the oldest Christmas decoration you have? Here's ours. These trees date from c.1930s/1940s. First one is made with dyed feathers and the second was made by a bottle brush manufacturer! #Christmas #Museums
- #ObjectOfTheWeek Did you know we have our very own Medieval Map of the World? Drawn in 1390 by the monks of Evesham Abbey, it offers a unique perspective of the world. The original is at the College of Arms but we have a great reproduction in the museum. Can you guess where England is on the map?
- Reposted by Almonry Museum⚠️ Pontypridd has been hit by devastating floods and our wonderful independent bookshop, Storyville Books, has seen much of its stock destroyed. If you’re able to buy a book from them, this would go such a long way to help support them rebuild in the aftermath. 👉 uk.bookshop.org/shop/Storyvi...
- Poor Basil!
- Due to the adverse weather forecast over the weekend and the cancellation of the Evesham Artisan Market, we will not be open on Sunday as planned. You can still visit us on Saturday from 10-5pm though!
- We have a guest for Christmas! Visit Evesham from 23rd November to January 5th, pick up a trail map and see if you can find all the Nutcrackers!
