- Reposted by Mariam Rashid, Ph.D., MPHSubjecting children to lead poisoning is not a political game. Republicans are gambling with the health of communities across America. Another generation of children should not be affected by lead in water. @mariamrashidphd.bsky.social @haileygibbs.bsky.social @jillrose.bsky.social ⬇️

- Reposted by Mariam Rashid, Ph.D., MPHI am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.
- I can’t say I’m not surprised. I am disappointed by the blatant disregard for our nations lack of accountability and ability to stand up to someone who is actively pining people against each other and pushing racism. www.nytimes.com/athletic/611...
- The federal funding freezes have thrown our country into chaos, leaving us questioning how to understand the gravity of this situation. W/this in mind, our fantastic researchers @americanprogress.bsky.social created tables that show the number of people by state who would be harmed by funding cuts.
- I have been so upset the past few days. I was a USAID fellow in 2015. This funding changes the trajectory of people’s lives. This funding saves lives & prevents death & the spread of disease. Closing USAID will not only hurt Americans, it will have catastrophic rippling effects across the globe.
- Ask yourselves why the GOP is hellbent on dismantling diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) efforts in our country? What do these offices accomplish across sectors in our country? What data do they collect and disseminate? DEi isn’t just a hiring practice as the administration wants you to believe.

- Contrary to what the major media outlets are reporting, there are some billion $$$ corporations who are standing up against the GOP's anti-DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) rhetoric. This information is vital to know, as we hold power to push back on ideologies that we disagree w/as Americans.
- ✅ NEW by me: Apple and Costco are not alone in taking a strong stand on diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI). The list of corporate giants pushing back on the 'anti-woke' #DEI backlash is growing in 2025. www.thequeenzone.com/dei-isnt-dyi... via @thequeenzone.bsky.social

- “We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity.” -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Never more fitting than today as we witness the world’s richest families sitting directly behind the new president on this Inauguration Day.
