Gen X, 6th grade teacher, wife, mom, grandma, daughter, aunt, cat-petter, and Kansas democrat trying to be a good person while treading water in a sea of red. Oh, and I collect vintage Pyrex.
- Been away for a bit. Found out I had ovarian cancer, had a hysterectomy, started chemo yesterday, had a reaction, finishing chemo today. I’ll end up with six rounds total. In happier news, I’ve had a blast trying out different wigs!

- I’m seeing a gynecologic oncologist next week. I’m scared but hopeful. If it’s cancer, and my dr thinks it is, they’re sure they caught it very early.
- I have two solid masses and a cyst on my right ovary. It’s possible everything is benign, but I am still in the waiting to find out phase. Blood was drawn on Thursday to screen for an ovarian cancer protein, and I have a second MRI on Monday. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t scared.
- One of the things I always look forward to in the spring is getting a peek at my potential class roster for the next school year!! 🥳

- Our last day of spring break is today, so it’s back to school tomorrow! Believe it or not, I’m ready. My classroom is my happy place. 🥰

- Where does everyone who’s cheering all these government cuts think the money is going to go? In their pockets? Have they ever actually met the government??

- I won the “Not the Worst Human” award from my cats. I won it by a landslide with record voter turnout. My cats said they’ve never seen a human not worse than me. The RADICAL DOG IN THIS HOUSE SAID SHE LOVES EVERYONE. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU ALLOW YOUR PETS TO BE INDOCTRINATED.
