- Reposted by IWW Freelance Journalists UnionLike many in our city, the Blade has struggled in Helene's ongoing aftermath. We're a local journalism co-op of working class trans people. It has not been an easy year. Amid exhaustion, illness, poverty and trauma we've still done important work. Please help us keep doing it.
- In Support of Writers Against the War On Gaza's Call for Comprehensive Coverage of the Israeli Genocide 1/ In September 2025, Save the Children estimated that Israeli forces had been killing more than one Palestinian child per hour since the start of Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip—
- 2/ or more than 20,000 children in less than two years. By the end of the month, Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported over 66,000 people killed and more than 168,500 injured, the vast majority women and children.
- /3 Meanwhile, Israel’s stranglehold on Western news media has been deafening. As Writers Against the War On Gaza has repeatedly noted, the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza should be front-page news—yet it is often conspicuously absent from Western media.

- Reposted by IWW Freelance Journalists UnionI could go on forever about this, but I’ll just say—a healthy democracy functions best when its people are informed, and it’s extremely important that journalism remains an independent & robust enterprise. Many issues with the industry, but its current dismantling is a net negative for any community
- Reposted by IWW Freelance Journalists UnionI’m proud to be a journalist, even as the industry in the US is cratering and being stripped for parts and reporters here and all over the world are risking life and livelihood to tell important stories. Especially proud to be amongst a group of truly talented, endlessly empathetic, intelligent ppl
- Reposted by IWW Freelance Journalists UnionIt’s World Press Freedom Day, and I want to step up on my little soapbox and remember those of us who didn’t make it last year—in Gaza, especially, but all around the world; & those of us who are doxxed/threatened/intimidated/arrested/killed for doing vitally important work, and keep doing it anyway

- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 🧵 On March 5, at 3:30pm CST (4:30pm EST) there is a hearing in the case of Nate A Lindell XRE vs. Terri Rees et al. The case, being heard by Judge Everett Mitchell, centers around Wisconsin’s Open Records law, and will determine whether the Wisconsin 1/
- Department of Corrections’ current ban on releasing body-worn camera footage violates the law. The plaintiff, fellow worker Nate Lindell, was denied access to bodycam footage from a guard that he alleges abused him, and he is now suing for release of the recording. 2/
- He was initially denied access because the Stanley Correctional Institution claimed releasing it would violate their security protocols. This case (2024-CV-1066) will determine if the original justification was sound, or if the bodycam footage must be released 3/

They want Jewish people to be harassed and terrorized as "antisemites" if they don't participate in the Christian Nationalist project represented by gentile Zionism.
