- My son has Mono, day 6 now of his throat hurting so bad he cannot function. Miso soup ice cream ensure is all he can get down. He is stressed about school- his upcoming AP biology trip to Dauphin Island Sea Lab. We are doing salt water gurgles, vit c, Advil. Need a miracle! Any advice??? #help
