- 🎉New Paper Alert!🎉 Really excited that this collaboration is finally out! It shows that combining oscillatory dynamics with hierarchical predictive frameworks generates speech perception that is robust to temporal distortions: similarly to human behavior and more so than current ASR models.
- 📢Out now! Olesia Dogonasheva and colleagues from @neurospeech.bsky.social present a predictive model for speech processing in the auditory cortex. www.nature.com/articles/s43... #compneurosky 🔓 rdcu.be/eImit
- Reposted by Keith B. DoellingPaper out with Atser Damsma, Mitchell de Roo, @kbdoelling.bsky.social & Pilou Bazin! Neural synchronisation 🧠 to the beat 🥁 shifts with tempo. We can model this shift with entrainment & evoked models! Do evoked responses explain more than we thought? 💃 Paper: doi.org/10.1093/cerc...

- Reposted by Keith B. Doellingperiodically I look around at the state of the internet and the way it is clearly contributing to making the world worse in so many ways, and I think back to dicking around in a computer lab in the early 00s and how full of promise it all felt, and I feel sad it didn't have to be this way

DoellingIn a @currentbiology.bsky.social paper earlier this year, led by @laurawesseldijk.bsky.social, we analysed Beethoven’s genome with a polygenic index related to musicality, as a way to communicate limits of genetic predictions at the individual level & the complexity of links between DNA & behaviour:
- Reposted by Keith B. DoellingThere should be an open repository - like bioRxiv, but much more casual - where people can document their failed projects that aren't worth the trouble of trying to publish. A massive graveyard of hypotheses with rich indexing, focusing on methodological choices. #neuroskyence #psychscisky #science
