- I'm decent with my money and earn a generally good wage, but nothing but new JSA payments since November left me especially keen this month
- Reminder they've partnered with ICE before (in 2020) and fired the internal whistleblower who released it to the press
- Stumbled onto a Industrial playlist. Have now spent a better half of today reaching flow state that I haven't achieved since text based RPG writing in high school.

- An annoying thing I am noticing in job listings. Remote role, unless you live in London (I do), then we're hybrid and you need to come in 2 days a week. I pay a ton of money for my home in London, don't make me leave it.
- Behind but major flaw in ST5 Holly would be a product of stranger danger. She would have had NEVER EVER EVER EVER talk to a stranger drilled into her brain from birth. Strange man approaching her in the library? She would have never made friends.
- Honestly 2025 was downhill after my honeymoon in May. I was SO dissatisfied with my job that I never got back into things after I took 3 weeks off. Probably early stages of burnout. If I wasn't so bitter about the drop in salary I've had to take, and the lack of settlement money I would be grateful
- I didn't even attempt this. I am not a dancer.
- I did not do this but I did get to the boss battle once.
- Final day of unemployment tomorrow, so let's review if I achieved anything. 1 - Sort of. Finished 2, DNF'd 1. Still reading last. 2 - 9/30 hour course. I want to get back into this. 3 - 1 time. There's nothing I want to see. 4- ✅ 5 - Sort of. I find it hard when it's cold, and it has been.

- Went to see My Neighbour Totoro on the West End last night. Dare I say, more magical than the original film because of the puppets.
- The popularity of Heated Rivalry is very interesting to me, as a hockey hating Canadian. It is SO fictionalised. Hockey players are a bunch of rich white boys, which leads to exactly the type of behaviour you'd expect. Hockey Canada has an internal fund to pay off sexual assault victims . . .

- Funemployment (yes I found a job, I start in January) means going full in on the Christmas cooking and baking. ✅ Crispy Crunch (cereal treats) ✅ Cinnamon swirl snickerdoodles Sugar cookie bars Scottish Shortbread ✅ Homemade Cranberry Sauce ✅ Get ahead gravy Do I add another cookie to the list? 🤔

- I understand that teams are busy right now and things are stressful. But gosh the mistakes, and then incompetence leading to confusion I've received from customer support when trying to correct. Just let me spend my money and provide the thing I've purchased, can't believe it's so difficult.
- Everyone freaking out about Friends leaving Netflix... BUY THE DVD GET A DVD PLAYER Physical media is the only (legal) way to ensure you always have access to your favourite media

- Not loving the current 'marketing via apology' trend going on right now. Especially since these companies do have things they probably should be apologising for

- Final day of work tomorrow. My goals for unemployment (besides find employment again of course) Finish the books I have started Find a Data Analysis course to take, and take it Go to the cinema Do the annual Christmas deep clean of the house Workout
- Interesting how in the CS I was brought forward for an interview at a G7 role, but only scored 2.33/5 for a HEO role. Application process for the 2.33 was very different from standard, it was through a system called "Applied" and did not follow the usual CS format.
- I've noticed speaking with other UXers lately that, like myself a few weeks ago, there were plenty of people who haven't been interviewing in several years now. I've started interviewing this week after not doing so seriously since 2023, so here's my experience 🧵
- You can't convince me GTA 6's delay is not related to Rockstars union busting behaviours www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- Reminding myself of previously effective job applications things from other times in my life. For example, sending a thank you note to the interviewers after the interview, just making yourself available for more conversations and maybe reminding them of your existence has worked well for me before
- You know, maybe I CAN kind of understand why people might think that birds aren't real.
- Just came across a research spec where one of the requirements for the participants was continuous speaking for the full 45 minute session with gaps in speaking of only 2 seconds or less allowed. WTF, awful companies running unethical garbage. But we don't need UX Researchers anymore . . . 🙄
- Another week of job applications. Postings have slowed, hit the "red" in my applications numbers today. I do have another civil service job to apply for but the applications take longer and they don't have the "rush to get first" thankfully so I'll tackle it after my Interview on Monday. #uxjobs
- Had an awful introductory call with a UX Career Coach last night. Can't believe their course sells for $3000. And they kept pushing it could be financed! Lots of respect lost for the individual running it.

- Welp it only took 2 weeks but I seem to have maxed out on the backlog of jobs to apply to. Thankfully it looks like there's some junior roles available which is a good thing for the market and a positive sign for the UX Research industry in general.
- Oof, service design fail for the Nectar QR code rollout
- In a world of 0 responses to applications, it's nice to see some candidate friendly design on certain platforms #ux #jobapplications
