Are you interested in adding individual differences analyses to your next project but dont know where to start? Then join us tomorrow where @drjt.bsky.social will give us a workshop on the what, why, and how of individual differences research! Sign up below! www.opamconference.com/workshops-su...
The next installment of our NSF-funded OPAM workshop series will feature Dr Jason Tsukahara (of the University of Miami) presenting his workshop on researching individual differences (on December 9th). Visit the website (opamconference.com) to register for the free Zoom session.
And if you dont have time tomorrow morning, then as usual we will post the video of this workshop on our website so you can catch it at another time! (and as always, our workshops are totally free!)
Friendly reminder that the Object Perception, Attention, and Memory conference has a new "Lunch with an Expert” initiative where you can be paired with an expert and have the chance to ask them questions while enjoying a free lunch! Register (and please share!): docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...
Do you want to know how or why you should preregister your next experiment? Then sign up for our next OPAM online workshop (hosted by @carohautekiet.bsky.social on October 8th) using the link below!

We will also make a recording of the workshop available on our website afterwards so you can learn about preregistrations even if you cant join the event in person!
Make sure you register for this year's OPAM and join us to hear what will definitely be a great talk from Dr. Joy Geng on her research and stories from her career!
The keynote speaker at this year's @opam.bsky.social Object Perception, Attention, and Memory meeting will be Dr Joy J. Geng of UC Davis. We're thrilled to have Joy join us, discuss her research, and impart some wisdom that she's gained throughout her incredibly impressive career.

Interested in why/how to preregister your studies? Then join us online (10am EST) for our next OPAM workshop where @carohautekiet.bsky.social will answer all your questions!
And be sure to "preregister" your attendance on our website! (where the zoom link will be provided)
The next installment (October 8th) of our OPAM Training Workshop series will feature Dr Caro Hautekiet (of Vrije Universiteit), who will be discussing pre-registration and registered reports. Visit this page for info on all our (free!) workshops: www.opamconference.com/workshops-su...
Our third OPAM workshop on how to easily build reproducible manuscripts in R is now online! For those of you that missed it but want to learn how to make great looking manuscripts, check out the workshop given by @jgeller1phd.bsky.social at the link below!

We are one week away from our next OPAM online workshop! This one will feature Dr Jason Geller (Boston College) who will show us how to use Quarto to make beautiful manuscripts! To join this workshop, sign up via our website!
www.opamconference.com/workshops-su...
It used to only be the job of journals to make your manuscript look good. But as more and more researchers preprint their work to get their latest findings out faster and fulfil open science mandates, now more then ever it is up to researchers to ensure their manuscripts look publication ready
For many, making their manuscript look aesthetic seems like an unnecessary hassle, and there is no shortage of manuscripts online that look like they pulled directly form word and are intended for reviewers rather than being prepared for a larger audience
In this workshop, Jason will show us that making your manuscript look great doesnt need to be seen as a lot of extra work! Using services like Quarto mean it is just a matter of a few minutes and sometimes it will look even better than what the journals can do!
Heres a few OPAM updates! Firstly, if you want to watch a recording of our second workshop on how to run the best power analysis possible for your next experiment (via @cjungerius.bsky.social), it can now be viewed (with supporting code) on our website here!
www.opamconference.com/online-works...
Thirdly, we have not received too many applications for our professional development award so if you apply then your chances are good! We have increased our reward amount to $500 so if you submitted an OPAM abstract then consider talking to your supervisor about applying before July 31st!
⛷️🏔️🧠
The OPAM 2025 Abstract deadline has been EXTENDED! Due to demand we will now accept submissions until the end of this Friday. But if you are planning to submit we still encourage you not to wait until the alst minute!

This Thursday we have our second OPAM online workshop! This one will address the best way to do power calculations to determine how many participants you should run in your next experiment - an increasingly important topic today! The talk will be given by @cjungerius.bsky.social from Cambridge!
The talk will take place via Zoom at 1pm EST. If you want to participate then make a profile on the new OPAM website! Everyone who has made a profile will get a zoom link on Wednesday.
