- Reposted by Víctor M Montori MDMy first book, In Shock, is on sale for only $2.99 the month of February. Given…(gestures vaguely) all of this… it’s a great time to read about the essential role of compassion in healing and also get ready for After Shock, coming in June. #medsky

- Reposted by Víctor M Montori MDPublished in #BMJ, brilliant, startling exposition from Montori et al of our dystopic future as surveillance capitalism invades health care. Depicts how patients & clinicians are unable to know who is listening to their consultations, who is using their data & to what end www.bmj.com/content/391/...

- We must end the commodification of health data by big tech companies, center healthcare on care, and put people back in control of their health information. Excited to share a new article by Juan Montori, Victor Montori, and I published in @bmj.com about the encroachment of Big Tech in healthcare.

- This is an important article for anyone in the business of supporting people making decisions. When considering alternative courses of action, people often start by laying out the options. Then, they review the pros/cons of each one. Think the famous scene in The Matrix (blue or red pill bit).
- Every post on Bluesky should defend the first amendment. Protest is speech and speech is protected. Disappearing a person - regardless of whether one agrees with their speech - is unacceptable. Every post should say this until the violation stops. Nothing is more important.
- If the caprice of the despot demands that one of us be taken away, would you keep your head down and recommend that others do the same? Or would you gather up and rise up because we are one? Is sitting still in silence in screensaver mode how we prevail? Or is solidarity our liberating superpower?
