Feb 3, 2026 01:10i have no idea about my dad's side. based on timelines the potato famine might have had something to do with it on his irish side, but no idea about his german side. some historical analysis would suggest that they may have also been jewish but converted at some point but hard to be sure
if anyone knows anything about working class german migration in the 1880s to kentucky/cincinatti area then maybe i could fill in some blanks but it seems the most likely answer is probably "factory jobs were there"
