- There is no maximum cap on what an older person has to pay for services under Australia’s new Support at Home program. I argued at the Senate Inquiry that fees should be capped at 10% of fortnightly income. The government was not interested. Do we really want old people living in poverty?
- For personal care, a full pensioner will pay $5/day or $35/week, a self-funded retiree will pay $50 or $350 a week. Add cleaning, meals & transport & costs soon add up to become unaffordable for people on limited incomes. Having to choose between a meal & shower is not ok in 21st century Australia.
- For the first time in Australia’s history, more than 50% of our power comes from renewables. Just as we achieve this tremendous milestone, the LNP demonstrates their commitment to not only supporting fossils but to becoming fossils
- Do what I say, not as I do. Trump gets flu and COVID vax as usual

- I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. DRINKING WATER CAUSES AUTISM. IN A DEFINITIVE STUDY ON THIS ISSUE, THE RESEARCHERS FOUND THAT THE PARENTS OF EVERY AUTISTIC CHILD HAD DRUNK WATER DURING THE PREGNANCY. THIS PROVES IT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER
- Government has the right to set policy. Experts have the right to tell them they are wrong. Citizens have the right to object. No government gets every decision right. Smart governments change their policy when they realise that they have it wrong helloleaders.com.au/article/supp...
- Wow, 120,000 older Australians are waiting for an aged care assessment & a further 90,000 have been assessed, approved & waiting for a package. So over 200,000 frail older Australians waiting for the services they need to live safely at home. Disgraceful greens.org.au/news/media-r...

- The world is in a period of extraordinary crisis and conflict. But the new moon rises to shine beautiful light regardless
- It’s time to recognise Palestine and drop the fantasy of a two state solution. These Australian diplomats have enormous experience and wisdom. It is time for Prime Minister Albanese and Senator Wong to listen to real experts & change direction johnmenadue.com/post/2025/08...
- I hope that NSW Premier Chris Minns, the NSW Police & all those who objected to the Palestine March yesterday now raise their voices to make the same comments about the annual Sydney Marathon. I’ll bet they won’t. Yet it will close the harbour bridge and clog up the city.

- I object to my taxes being used to pay Jillian Segal to try & stop Australians speaking up about genocide & ethic cleansing in Gaza. Australia is a tolerant country with a strong sense of truth & justice. Her proposals are vile & anti-Australian
- Hey kids, try this at home
- How spending more on defence harms the nation. Too right it does johnmenadue.com/post/2025/07...
- Happy Sunday to be an Australian 😃
- The next time someone tells you that the quality of aged care has improved, tell them they’re dreaming. 14,934 reportable incidents in just three months (October to December 2024). To get a feel for the whole picture, multiply by 4 😟
- It’s time for Australia to stop talking about Defence spending. America wants Australia to spend more on Attack funding. Australia is not under threat from any country. Our biggest risk is aligning with America when it attacks under countries. We must be non-aligned
- Anyone for tea and scones?
- A case study in how not to manage a Commonwealth program. I am on the board of MOW NSW and know first hand how much damage this did to Meals on Wheels. No one has been held to account. Today’s Canberra Times.
