I wrote my first scathing review on Letterboxd and whew what a rush, that was so thrilling. In tandem with my new year's intention of watching more classic films through my new Criterion Channel account, surely nothing will go wrong.
Jan 26, 2026 04:53It was Ghost in the Shell. I'm sorry but the "it was a pioneer of its time that influenced many other films" argument will not work on me. The Sailor Moon movies were coming out around the same time and Cowboy Bebop came out three years later. That was an unfinished, incoherent thought experiment.
