- Reposted by AshOur founders, though deeply flawed, understood that democracy requires an informed citizenry and a government accountable to it people. That’s why the press is the only profession protected by the Constitution. It’s also why autocrats and oligarchs seek to control and destroy it.
- Reposted by Ashagain we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are his net worth is $253.2 billion. so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire and then do it again tomorrow and again the day after that and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months

- Reposted by AshI had a telehealth psych appointment & I started crying because, well, that's where I'm at right now. But Milly heard me & she came running in & put one of her little paws on my leg. I think dogs make up for all of the empathy that so many people lack nowadays. We don't deserve them
- I’m gonna do something totally *crazy* and have a cup of coffee in the morning AS WELL AS in the afternoon ☕️

- Reposted by AshVoter suppression is a huge problem. . Voter apathy is also a pretty damn big problem. . It is possible to want to solve both. Calling non-voters lazy doesn’t actually do anything to solve either one.

- Reposted by AshOne of the things bothering me about how people are responding to the Epstein files is that there are tons of conspiracies being created and spread about what’s in them, rather than people just believing the victims like they could have been doing for years now

- Reposted by AshHonestly, I long for the day again when I can wake in the morning and not have to brace myself from some new horror committed by a man and his regime who are feeding themselves on the ruins of public liberty.

- Reposted by AshIs the dam breaking? I would argue, no. Look at these carefully measured Republican statements. They talk about values, de-escalation, and investigation, but not the murder itself. Not the abusive force. Not the unchecked ICE operation. Not the ongoing violence committed by ICE. Not real change.
