Mainstream media wasn't talking about it, I suspect because he is another example of nobody doing anything beneficial for the mentally ill in this country and they recoiled at the story's narrative that fits neatly into the belief of racists about black men.

Now, let's remove skin color from the equation. This man had schizophrenia and a long criminal history. His mom tried to have him institutionalized earlier this year due to his increasing violent behavior. He was also homeless.

So, let's look at how our nation has handled the mentally ill who commit crimes and are homeless since the 80's (cause the rich ones just make their crimes go away). We pretend this problem doesn't exist because it costs too much money to help really sick people and we can't afford it.

Instead, we let them live on the streets until they come along and commit a crime. Then we get to pay a private company to care for them for the rest of their lives. Kinda sad, isn't it? By the way, does anyone know what the national guard did with Washington DC's homeless population?
