For your daily nightmare fuel, the trees around Cherynobl are not decaying b/c the microbes, fungi, & bacteria that help them decay are not there. So it’s greatly increasing the fire risk in the no-go zone, which is its own kind of terrible b/c the forest is radioactive. (I know it’s from 2014).
