- OTD in Sesame Street history, 12/16/87, A Muppet Family Christmas premiered for the first time! This special featured the Muppets, the Sesame Street cast, the Fraggles, and Henson himself.

- On this day in Sesame Street history, Sesame Street was on the wrong end of another soulless decision by Zaslav and WB. Hopefully Sesame Workshop can find a new studio that cares more about the IP and the children it was created to educate and inspire.
- Kermit and his human friends Fanny and Shola in 1972, and reunited in 1989. I wonder what it’s like to have the quasi-immortality of a Muppet.

- We lost Carroll Spinney, the original performer of Big Bird 5 years ago today. He developed him from a goofy giant to a sensitive six-year-old. We miss you, Carroll 💛
