- In Friday I'm in Love, Robert Smith sang "Such a gorgeous sight/to see you eat in the middle of the night". For years I thought he enjoyed watching his missus snacking on marmite on toast or something, but now I'm wondering if he was being sexual, which seems very off-brand for the Cure. Or is it?
- Watching ARCHITECTON, a documentary of staggering scale amd power, and also the most obvious shoo-in for the Berlinale Documentary Film Award ever. But it didn't win!
- Can anyone tell me what's going on in #fallout and whether I should care anymore?
- Happily lost in the Prelinger archives on Archive.org.
- I often rewatch the last 10 minutes of Hereditary because it's got such a magical synthesis of music and visuals, creating a feeling of terrible ecstasy. The rest of the film is a load of nonsense- horror for idiots.
- Has anyone checked in on the guy who did the "Diarrhoeaaaa" bit in the Pepto Bismol ad to see if he's doing ok?
- Inspired by a recent episode of the wonderful podcast Loremen. Yep, niche, but it made me laugh. ##loremen
- Have decided it's not worth the risk going to work for the rest of the week. #clickbait
- Smashing documentary featuring Mummers, Wren (or is it rent?) boys and a rather disapproving narrator. It's wonderfully Wicker Manly youtu.be/ic4qWguBYEM?...
- "Don't forget there's still time to take part in t'Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend. So get yer binocks and stare down those beaky bastards" Thanks, Sean. #biggardenbirdwatch2026 #biggardenbirdwatch
- Reposted by Michael Féaux-WoodSigns about the history of slavery in the U.S. and the 9 people George Washington enslaved are being removed right now at the President’s House Site in Philadelphia, across from Independence Hall, months after the Trump administration threatend to do so. How far we have not come in 250 years.
- Very smutty episode.
- A senile narcissist who thinks that he did everything he hears about or thinks of. Anything that is good, he did it, therefore it's good. Anything else is bad.
- Tron: Ares-style anagram fun from the Beeb
- Had to stop watching #nuremberg because you can't put actual concentration camp footage into a so-so war legal drama and then expect to have anything follow it. It's the largest of several bad cases of judgement that the film makes.
- Watching Nuremberg. Remi Malek is introduced sat opposite a woman on a train, repeatedly cutting a pack of cards with one hand. He talks her into letting him do a card trick. Oddly, she doesn't tell him to piss off.
- @icegov.bsky.social How can you people sleep at night?
- The Seven Dials really thinks it's exciting, clever, funny and visually epic. But it's none of them.
- My Stepson is in the kitchen having his tea whilst watching a YouTube vid of an American man in a baseball cap reacting to playing Geometry Dash. In terms of engendering a pessimistic view of the future of America, it's worse than JD Vance.
- Watching the highly-regarded Argentinian sci-fi series The Eternaut. Great premise and a welcome change to see and older cast, but it feels like there's bits of plot missing.
- TS has L Riz
- Do Americans know that there's quite a few problems that can be resolved without resorting to murder?
- Here we come a wassailing.
- Despite knowing whodunnit in advance, I took the SAG? Chaps' recommendation and Black Christmas is an absolute monstrous pearl of a movie. It's not 12th night yet, so check it out.
- Happy New Year! Here are a cheery Sooty and Sweep that I spotted yesterday
- Happy New year, Kiwi pals!
- I have no idea what any of you are talking about.
- My peoples know me so well. Best wishes of the season to you all, whostsoever you may be.
- How I'm arriving at the BlueSky Christmas party.
- Despite the "Youth Hostelling with Chas 'n' Dave" title, this has become a very satisfying yearly Christmas listen. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...
