- Sandwiches like subs or banh mi always give me a moment of stress when I must decide to eat it with the opening on the left or the right. One must be correct and one must be wrong (my brain decided) but I’m never sure which is which.
- A story idea is badly distracting me from my (more or less in progress) novel
- This took me over. Trying to think of one story and this other one just feels so much more vibrant right now. All I did was think of terrace agriculture and potatoes and suddenly a military campaign with three layers of deception is clear in my mind. Though whenever I try for B plot, I get more A…
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmToday I saw ICE gas little white kids in the streets of Portland with chemical weapons. Imagine what they're doing to brown and black kids in the detention camps

- Some years ago, learning the word "autological" (an adjective that describes itself, like "short" or "pentasyllabic") and its antonym "heterological" (e.g. "long" is short), I instantly rediscovered the Grelling-Nelson paradox: "Autological" is autological. Is "heterological" heterological?

- After some composite was added to my teeth for bite alignment, my bite closes short of where it would normally go, obstructed by something hard. The result is that everything feels like it's got bones. Chicken, broccoli, rice… (Not popcorn; that just feels full of kernels.) I imagine it’ll pass.
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmElon Musk owns a website that generates child porn and was an eager associate of Jeffrey Epstein long after it was known Epstein trafficked children for sex. How is anyone continuing to be associated with any of his projects companies or operations
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmSo what I'm hearing is that, in the last five days, two Black Members of Congress have been assaulted in apparent support of the regime's deportation diktat (Rep Frost, punched at Sundance & told he'd be deported; Rep Omar at an ICE townhall) & the regime has arrested four Black journalists. Huh.
- Basically, they’re classifying her as Black Triangle.
- After brutally arresting Aliya Rahman, an autistic, disabled woman, in Minneapolis, ICE agents told her that "this wouldn’t have happened if I was a ‘normal’ human being." bit.ly/3ZHX3IC

- Reposted by Petter HäggholmApple & Google removed ICE tracking apps in their app stores. TikTok reportedly suppressed videos criticizing ICE & the shooting of Alex Pretti. Meta blocked Facebook groups tracking ICE & links to a database of agents that the government wants to keep secret. Big Tech is enabling Trump's regime.
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmThis outrageous act — seizing ballots — follows Bondi’s demand that to stop public executions in Minneapolis, Minnesota needed to turn over its voter roll. They’re determined to steal the midterms since they know they can’t win under an actual democracy.
- I hate how angry I constantly feel. Keeping up with current events is making me miserable and, though I try to push it down, unpleasant to interact with (in both cases: even more than usual).
- Signal is (as far as is known) like a perfectly secure online meeting room. There’s no way for anyone to pick the lock, no windows. You’re perfectly safe from eavesdropping from the outside…but not, of course, from being overheard by people someone invited in. That’s not a *technological* problem.
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmWhoa. D.Minn's chief judge Patrick Schiltz dockets a list of "96 court orders that ICE has violated in 74 cases." www.courtlistener.com/docket/72120...
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmImportant. There has not been a deescalation.
- Time after time, judges put up obstacles for the regime, and lawless though the regime may be, they clearly can't just ignore them all. It feels like the clock—or maybe calendar—hangs on these judges. If Trump gets to appoint too many fed judges, it'll be bad. That's one deadline to dismantle them.
- Reposted by Petter Häggholm“An administration official gave away the game to Punchbowl News, admitting that these “de-escalatory measures” are about placating Senate Democrats so they don’t seize this moment to demand restrictions on ICE as part of any government funding package.” newrepublic.com/article/2057...
- It also occurs to me that Vance said nothing that truly nails down which side he’s on. He managed a Holocaust Remembrance statement that *both* sides could sign off on.
- Reposted by Petter Häggholm“The name on the on the door of DHS doesn’t really matter. This is an operation being run by the president and Stephen Miller.” while i think we might actually have the political capital now to remove multiples, we need to prioritize the most damaging/less legally protected. that's stephen miller
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmThere's no ICE accountability without ending qualified immunity. They're murdering people. There won't be justice for the lives they've stolen, but there must be accountability. My bill with @markey.senate.gov would ensure families can sue the agents murdering their loved ones.
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmAmid growing calls for the abolition of ICE, Rep. Delia Ramirez is calling for the entire DHS to be dismantled. Highlighting how much experience the officers who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti had, Ramirez said, “DHS was built to violate our rights and has been empowered to act with impunity.”
- Reposted by Petter HäggholmYou can't reform this shit. This is a death threat.
- "You raise your voice, I erase your voice." ICE in Minneapolis are erasing your rights. Please share our new video of what's happening in our city. youtu.be/W1dyNcRGRXY
- Reposted by Petter Häggholmthe first best Senate ask is to split the DHS funding from the rest of the minibus. It wrongfoots Republicans, it unites the D caucus, and it becomes more compelling rather than less compelling the longer Rs resist it. plus all the minibus components were negotiated separately anyway
