- Lots of talk about what did or didn’t happen at #PMQs today, but how often does it land on the opening day of a major international tournament, and not one MP, Minister, or even the PM wishes our national teams good luck? Yes, it was chaotic but they’re are going in as reigning champs.

- Lots of good stuff in the CCC report, but disappointing to see little focus on new modelling: the estimated capital investment needed for Net Zero has fallen from £1.3tn to £0.7tn. 70% of this will come from the private sector—the Government just needs to create the right landscape to unlock it.

- With the energy price cap rising again on January 1st, I’m resharing a toolkit we created—a one-stop shop explaining what’s happening with bills, where to find advice, and how to access support. With temperatures dropping, I hope it reaches anyone needing help who isn’t sure where to look.
- Refreshing to see recognition of long-term policies, even if they’re not headline-grabbing. Staying focused on stability and steady progress might not excite the 6 o’clock news, but after years of rapid changes and uncertainity, perhaps more ‘boring’ politics is exactly what’s needed.
