Relax, I’m From The Future starring Rhys Darby and Gabrielle Graham out now on VOD and DVD!
- New Year New Me
- Was very excited for the chance to be a big sappy dork about my favourite filmmaker and how much his films mean to me. Ikiru literally solves the Meaning Of Life! Pretty good! Big thanks to @etrommater.bsky.social @toadpuppy.bsky.social @jatdog.bsky.social and Audra Angelique for having me!
- We’re streaming tonight on Hollywood Suite! It’s the Big Time, Baby! Glitz and Glamour! The sky is empty for all the stars are here, etc, etc!

- There are 2 small moments in the film One Battle After Another that closely resemble moments from my film. I choose to take this as irrefutable proof that PTA is a huge fan of my work. Loved talking OBAA with @dougtilley.bsky.social and @liamrulz.bsky.social podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/c...
- This is honestly one of the best endorsements my film has gotten
- Had a great time defending the Vampire Movie status of one of my favourite comedies ever made! Thanks to @toadpuppy.bsky.social and @etrommater.bsky.social for having me on again!

- New albums from both Pup and Car Seat Headrest today! Big day for fans of loud, funny, overly clever Sadboy indie rock (me)

- Really enjoyed this conversation where we go deep into the movie’s ideas and I even get challenged on some of them. We also talk nerdy filmmaking stuff and of course working with the great Rhys Darby! (I obviously do not co-sign the Quebec OR Cronenberg slander…) #relaximfromthefuture
- Happy Canadian Film Day! Watch something Canadian and buy a struggling filmmaker a coffee or a townhouse or something

- Ari Aster officially confirmed as a Bono superfan
- Personal top films of 2024: 1. The Substance 2. Do Not Expect Too Much From The End Of The World 3. Dune Pt 2 4. A Different Man 5. Anora 6. Red Rooms 7. I Saw The TV Glow 8. Sleep 9. Love Lies Bleeding 10. Exhuma Main theme of 2024 at the movies: hating yourself and the world you live in!
- IF YOU ARE IN ONTARIO PLEASE VOTE TODAY! And please vote with the knowledge that Doug Ford has personally stolen your money, raised your rent, made services in your province objectively worse and directly threatened your child’s education. A failure by any metric! And he’ll win if you don’t vote.
- The great Gene Hackman displaying the two poles of human emotion. RIP to one of the Greats
- If you put on this score on when you sit down to write you will 100% get some pages done. That alone should have earned it an Oscar nomination. youtu.be/63k6AfvLsso?...
- Second viewing of A Different Man last night. Fucking love this movie. Could have gone wrong in a million different ways, but nails its dark, funny, brilliant tone throughout. Scratches a very specific itch I haven’t felt since Being John Malkovich

- I always liked David Lynch’s work, but it wasn’t until I started trying to make my own films that I understood how truly special he was.
- This was a very fun and thoughtful interview until with about 3 minutes left I answer a question by saying I am ‘pro-history’ and that history is ‘important stuff’, which makes me sound like an absolute moron who has never read a history book.

- Can confirm! What better way to ring in the new year than with someone who’s already been there??

- Merry Christmas from grimy, 1970s Toronto!! 🎄❄️🔥
- Genuinely enjoy going on a miniature emotional rollercoaster every few days when I check for new @pt.letterboxd.social reviews of my film
- If you have ever called a business to complain to the owner about an experience you had with a barber, a cashier, a service worker, etc…I would like you to take a real moment and consider the possibility that you’re a fucking asshole.

- I’m being productive.
- Everything my 3-year-old daughter watches is either a charming and delightful work of art or the most evil, soulless CGI abomination I’ve ever seen. To her, they are equally great. This is more difficult for me to accept than her desire to eat dirt.
- Just watched The Straight Story for the first time (the only Lynch film I hadn’t seen) and I can’t stop thinking about this monologue. It’s hilarious and strange and sad and kind of profound? Sums up a very specific frustration with being alive today. youtu.be/cCsqyOaPsP4?...
- I was detained by cops at 2 of Tyler’s warehouse parties while cooler and/or faster teens escaped into the night both times. Worth it!

- One of my favourite things is people talking unpretentiously about their passionate love for art that is often written off as pretentious or overly academic. Kendrick’s got great taste! youtu.be/CuZo__82POU?...
- How it feels hanging out with my 3-year-old today after going out for birthday drinks last night.
