A Tim Lincecum blog that occasionally covers the San Francisco Giants.

- Parks Harber is a pretty notable name here, given that he hasn't played in AA yet.
- Our Willie McCovey Memorial Community Prospect List is chugging along
- No. 35 on our community prospect rankings: slugger Victor Bericoto who, despite signing in 2018, somehow only just turned 24
- Baseball is not moving in the direction I expected that a high average/no power hitter and a low average/49-homer hitter got very similar contracts within a day of each other
- What if the Giants had done this and put him at 2B...
- Is Luis Arráez better defensively at second base than Marco Luciano?
- The one thing I like about the Luis Arráez signing is it means the Giants didn’t trade Jhonny Level or Josuar González for Brendan Donovan or CJ Abrams. That’s my lone silver lining.
- The Giants are signing Luis Arráez for $12M to play second base and I cannot put to words how much I hate this move
- Giants announced that they traded Kai-Wei Teng to the Astros for prospect Jancel Villarroel, a High-A catcher with decent power who was Houston's No. 19 prospect in this month's Baseball America ranking. Also international pool money. As Kai-Wei's No. 1 believer, I'm sad. Decent return, though.
- Still no corresponding move announced after signing Harrison Bader (though the Giants haven't yet announced that move, either)
- Per Héctor Gómez on X, the Giants "intensify talks to land Framber Valdez on a multi-year deal." Also mentions the Mets and Orioles as teams that are pursuing the LHP.
- Harrison Bader's arrival certainly makes it that much harder to envision Luis Matos sticking around past Spring Training
- Per Ken Rosenthal, Giants have signed Harrison Bader to a two-year deal
- CJ Abrams was -11 Outs Above Average last year, 35th out of 37 qualifying shortstops. -9 Fielding Run Value, 70th out of 71 qualifying shortstops. Unlike Bo Bichette, he's not good enough offensively to make that profile work for a groundball pitching and defense Giants team.
- Baggs reporting that the Giants were willing to make Josuar González available in a CJ Abrams trade and that fell apart and boy am I happy that it fell apart
- remember when the giants signed adrian houser though
- I realize that the Giants didn't actually think Tatsuya Imai was good, but if they're not going to sign good players can they at least sign bad ones who vocally hate the Dodgers
- dodgers are dropping $60M/year + taxes for a player they don't at all need. Giants are refusing to spend more than $11M/year for a starting pitcher they desperately need. hard to even be mad when LA invariably runs circles around SF
- we got a theater tho
