- Jess interviewed 9 young autistic people about their experiences of menstruation. They described that co-occurring conditions were impacted by menstruation and influenced their menstrual experience. People described being "more" sensitive to emotional events and the physical environment.
- Another theme was "emotional resignation"-people described difficult and distressing menstrual experiences but were resigned to not receiving support or situations not changing. Suggestions for better support included education (for young autistic people & professionals) & accessible products.
