- On Holocaust Memorial Day we remember the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust. We pay tribute to the survivors who tell their stories today. I signed the Holocaust Educational Trust’s Book of Commitment on behalf of the people of Leeds South West & Morley.
- On Thursday, the trial of Chow Hang‑tung, Albert Ho and Lee Cheuk‑yan begun in Hong Kong. Their “crime” was organising peaceful candlelight vigils to remember the victims of Tiananmen Square, a tradition kept alive for over 30 years before it was banned.
- NATO's Article 5 has only ever been invoked once; when the US was attacked on 9/11. The UK answered the call and 457 British service personnel were killed, with many more injured. Donald Trump's comments are a disgrace. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cd...

- Northern Powerhouse Rail is a multi-billion pound commitment to the North and I absolutely welcome that the Government will now prioritise Yorkshire as part of Phase 1. Alongside this, we must also deliver the West Yorkshire Tram, which links Leeds and Bradford, as soon as possible.
- Where are the most dangerous roads in Leeds South West & Morley? People who live here know the answers. But even when residents know a road is dangerous, we're often told that a fatality has to occur, or that the mean average speed must be higher, before something is done:

- Organisations like Leeds Women's Aid do essential work for some of the most vulnerable women in our city. One of the issues they have raised with me consistently is the amount of time they have to dedicate to making applications for short-term grants. I asked the minister to address this point.

- Those who step up to provide a loving home for children who wouldn't otherwise have one, deserve our support. My constituent is a hero for taking 7 children into her care when she was asked to. I used the last day in Parliament to highlight her case and cause with the Leader of the House.

- On National Post Workers Day, I thank everyone who is working so hard across our postal service in Leeds South West and Morley to deliver in time for Christmas. Grateful to the workers at our Royal Mail delivery depots for showing me around and for giving me my post!
- Chanukah is meant to be a festival of joy, but the Jewish community has been subject to an evil antisemitic attack on the first day. This is what “globalise the intifada” looks like. There should be no place for antisemitism. We must defeat the world’s oldest hatred.
- Great to speak with Natasha who has set up and runs The Empowered Collective in East Ardsley. Lots of work has been done to transform the building. This newly refurbished community hub in East Ardsley exists for both women and men who support them. Look forward to collaborating with you Natasha!
- The boys had a great time at The Little Biscuit Pottery Painting Studio on Small Business Saturday. Thank you so much for having us! It's so important to support local businesses right across our community, all year round.

- Lovely festive evening at Tingley Garden Centre for the #TingleyWinterTrail before heading back down to Parliament for another busy week. The boys loved looking at the lights, toasting marshmallows, and of course, meeting Father Christmas!

- ☀️🚪 Bright & brisk day on the doors with the team on the Bawn estate in Farnley. We picked up some more ideas for the £20 million Pride in Place funds, many thanks for your feedback. Door knocking is for life, not just for election time!
- Great day with the family at Drigmass, the Morley Christmas Lights switch on and a spot of wreath making in Wortley at Highfield Methodist Church. Oscar even got to help open a new little library on Wortley Rec, created by the Friends of Wortley Rec and Councillor Adrian McCluskey!
- 💷Morley will have a banking hub by March 2026. A temporary hub will open next year if the permanent site needs more work, and the team is choosing a fully accessible location. Thanks to everyone in Morley who helped make this happen!

- ✅Great news for school libraries📚 £5m for secondary schools next year on top of £10m for primary schools. As a former teacher I know how much this matters. Every child deserves a great library and we’ll deliver it.
- The East Ardsley RSPCA Leeds, Wakefield & District Branch: Animal Centre, do incredible work. It was an honour to be invited to join the Vivekananda Pariwar Shaka of Morley who raised funds for the branch after they learned about their charity appeal through my Facebook - thank you for following!
- A busy weekend with lots of highlights, especially the Gildersome Christmas Lights switch on. Great work by the Parish Council to deliver this hugely successful event once again. Oscar and Arthur loved meeting Santa and his elf.
