2026 Bookish (and not-so-bookish) Goals
Happy 2026 bookish peeps! I feel like the end of 2025 crept up on me without warning and suddenly I'm staring the new year straight in the face. November and December were incredibly busy, both personally and at work, and I barely even thought about my blog. When I did think about it I didn't have a lot of time or motivation to do anything about it which has meant I've been missing for what seems like forever. This is something I am hoping to rectify in 2026 by simplifying my life and granting myself permission to let the house get a little messy; to take time for the things I love; and to say no when I need to.
Best of 2025
As I go to pick the books I most want to share, I notice that the books I've read have predominantly been four star reads. While I have read a few five star reads, it is these four star reads that have left a lasting impression. It seems odd that a book I clearly loved enough to give…

As I go to pick the books I most want to share, I notice that the books I've read have predominantly been four star reads. While I have read a few five star reads, it is these four star reads that have left a lasting impression. It seems odd that a book I clearly loved enough to give five stars, is now all but forgotten; the details lost over time. While other books are stuck in my head for one reason or another. Does this happen to anyone else? Or just me?

Wrapping up 2025
Happy New Year bookish peeps! I hope you've had an amazing festive season celebrating with the people you love. For me the weeks and months leading up to the festive season were overwhelmingly busy but the actual celebrations were relaxed and wonderful. I spent time with family and friends, hosted an intimate Christmas dinner with just my kids and spent a fair amount of time at home just pottering around. Hubby and I both had time off work so we played games of UNO, read books, binge watched trash TV and did a little prepping for the new year.

It's been a minute since I had a look at my NetGalley shelf to check my progress...since July since I posted a check-in. I have, however been reading my ARCs gradually and giving feedback as I go. I have kinda stopped doing bigger review style posts for now, preferring to write little blurbs for each book as I go along. Read: This Book Made Me Think of You by Libby Page- ★★★★ My Feedback: What a sweet premise for this book – twelve books, twelve months to heal a broken heart.

Monthly Bookish Wrap Up – August/September 2025
I'm not sure where the past couple of months went but I know I spent no time blogging and I barely picked up a book. I went away for my birthday on the last weekend of August and so didn't get a chance to post, then all book related things fell off my radar. This is super ADHD of me and shouldn't come as a surprise, however it always does. When I realised I hadn't posted for 5-6 weeks, I went down a motivation/doubt/guilt spiral that I am only just now dragging myself out of.

20 Books of Summer: Completed
I did it!! I completed the 20 Books of Summer Challenge hosted by Annabel @ AnnaBookBel and Emma @ Words and Peace for 2025. Last year I chose to read only ten books for the challenge, keeping things realistic for my first time participating in the challenge. This year, however, I decided to go the whole hog - 20 books from my TBR but to keep this year's list realistic, I decided to pre-choose 10 of my books and leave the other 10 open to cater for mood reading. I found that this really worked, taking the pressure off and resulting in me not having to switch books in and out of the list.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s TTT topic is: Books with a High Page Count Let me start by saying that, lately I tend to read books that are between 350 -450 pages and anything above that would have to come with some pretty good references for me to pick it up. I just don't have the stick-with-it-ness to read those door stopper style books, knowing that any book getting close to the 500 page has a tendency to drag on and may potentially send me into a reading slump.
