- They really should have nominated our whole state. But it’s also rich that the city is trying to take a bow, when our government agencies, esp the mayor’s office and police, have offered little but quotable words, and the cops have been enablers.

- Embarrassing the dumbfucks in charge will get you deported. These people are unspeakably evil, from the top all the way down to the ice under our feet.

- I doubt these guys would have stood out in the recent cold to do this. Much as the thaw feels nice right now, I’d sat, bring back the cold.

- The people working in the “federal government” suck things that humans should neither touch nor consume. “These people need to be deported because we picked a loser’s fight with them and we lost and now we are sad.”
- Reposted by Will and the Loonsphoto of a hennepin county sheriff’s deputy (obscured partially by security here) letting ICE agents into the court side of the government center in downtown minneapolis and bypassing weapons screening
- Reposted by Will and the LoonsThis is really it! Getting emergency rental assistance approved helps landlords! Typically, the payments are made directly to them! Back rent of evicted tenants is rarely recovered! If the council moderates actually supported landlords, they'd rush to get this approved. They just hate poor people

- One key point about all this is that the term “immigrant” is doing a lot of work these days … It’s certainly not reducible to citizenship, and when you dig underneath the surface, there’s a wide spectrum of official status.” Great piece by @blindeke.bsky.social

- Reposted by Will and the LoonsA bizarre number of people have stepped up to defend Julie Le. What you see in that transcript is an attorney who chose to do evil work—deporting people for ICE then moving over to DOJ in early Jan. specifically to fight these habeas petitions—being called to the carpet. She's desperate, not heroic.

- Always fun when dudes show up in mentions to write things like an irritable 6-post mansplanation to a question that was not asked out of ignorance nor inexperience, as he assumes, and which at least the person to whom I addressed it answered politely and helpfully.
- Kids these days. “She just goes, ‘Mom, that's something Martin Luther King wanted. He wanted everyone to just love one another, and he would definitely be there if he was here now,’” [her daughter] said. “Oh my God. You can get this as a 9-year-old that some adults don't even get.”

- Reposted by Will and the LoonsI am constantly reminded that it is also really brave to receive help in these difficult moments. To be a vulnerable person, living in a society that very clearly wants to harm you, and to trust your family’s survival to strangers or people you hardly know is also really difficult.
- Reposted by Will and the LoonsPeter Thiel has been open about this for a long time. Trump is a way to break the republic, which can then be replaced by “free economic zones” with oligarchs as dictators and tech as a taskmaster for helpless humans without any rights. (1/2)

- Reposted by Will and the LoonsI’ll be at the DFL Caucus night tomorrow. However, I cannot in good conscience say it is safe for our undocumented neighbors to show up. Please show up & push for resolutions in support of an eviction moratorium, the repeal of the Laken Riley Act, & no funding for “immigration enforcement”.

- Reposted by Will and the LoonsThere‘s a ton of good work being done in the local private legal community. And while I’m sure there are exceptions, management has been extremely supportive and line lawyers are jumping in with both feet.
- Reposted by Will and the LoonsJFC ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE ALREADY REQUIRED. OH MY GOD. YOU ARE BEGGING FOR THINGS THAT ARE ALREADY REQUIRED BY LAW. - Reposted by Will and the LoonsThis makes the Jan 23, 2026 action the largest strike in Minnesota History, and depending on which number you use, 3rd in American History after the massive national strikes of 1919, or the Great Railroad Strike of 1922. I note with extreme interest that mainstream media didn't report these facts.
- Reposted by Will and the LoonsNew York Times covers the Economic Siege of Minnesota’s ICE occupation, a deliberate administration strategy to punish an entire blue locality. We need more national coverage alerting the nation to what’s next for them. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/02/b... (gift link)
- Reposted by Will and the LoonsThis is Minneapolis: I’m headed to D.C. for work today. On the way to the airport I coordinate rides for 2 neighbors who need urgent medical care but can’t leave their home w/o a white neighbor to look out for them. I’m free to travel while my BIPOC neighbors shelter in place. This is not ok.
