Who remembers the glory days of 90s PC gaming?🕹️💾 ... If so, what was YOUR all-time favourite game? Doom? Quake? SimCity 2000? Or maybe another LucasArts classic? ... Currently lost in the pirate world of "The Secret of Monkey Island"🏴☠️ on my (pretty authentic, I think!) Windows 95 build. (cont...)
Feb 3, 2026 21:47DOOM 3. Hands down. Duke Nukem was fun, too
I loved Sim City. As far as loving video games goes.
But also, Joust (from the 80s) and Number Munchers (also from the 80s). And also, this text-based game 🎮 I forget the name of. Where you get in a maze and go to hell.
Grew up with a Mac 68040 or something (it was before Apple got trendy with iMacs so i can't remember if ut had a name) so my game options were a little limited, but THANKFULLY LucasArts privided!
Space, King's, Police... any Quest game from Sierra.
Showing my nerd here but, Sid Meier’s Gettysburg. That was the thing that triggered my interest in history.
In 1992 I purchased an AMD 386DX-40, 4 MB RAM, 240 MB HDD, 14" SVGA monitor, 1MB Trident card, no sound card, no modem for $1500.
I added a SoundBlaster and 2400 baud modem in 1993.
Sim city 2000 and Tribes, probably.
No one seems to remember FULL THROTTLE, but man oh man, I still play it from time to time.
