- We note the passing of Professor Emeritus Eric Reiche, who died at age 92. Eric got his PhD at UDelaware with a concentration on German history, especially Nazi Germany. He also taught Russian and European history. He is survived by his partner Dr. Mary-Anne Cyphers-Reiche and two children.

- Last week, History students Katie and Oz conducted research for HIST3560 and Dr. McCorkindale’s project on Chatham's Black community -- specifically Nelson Hackett and his redcoat defenders. To learn how 1840s Black militia soldiers dressed, they studied records at Chatham Public Library. #cdnhist
- They also went on a tour led by Dorothy Wright-Wallace (Black Mecca Museum). At the church where John Brown unveiled the Provisional Constitution in 1858, they viewed the original beams through windows constructed in the basement ceiling. (Post-tour: the Satellite diner, home of Hawaiian pizza.)

Organized by Dr. Sarah Nickel (UAlberta) in partnership with Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc, it trained students in hands-on community service learning that focuses on Indigenous historical scholarship.
