Made lasagne last night for the first time for my daughter's 14th birthday meal and I must say I was rather pleased with how it turned out!
Good job! It looks like you used the no boil noodles....but in case you didn't, they are fantastic. Just build your lasagna with these no boil noodles. I will never boil again!
I did indeed used fresh pasta sheets so no boiling required! Was much easier to make than I thought.
It looks delicious! I love making lasagna, it's easier than it seems, and there are so many possibilities! I've made salmon, spinach and mushroom ones for my pescatarian friends, and I love varying the meats and sauces. Also easy to put loads of veggies in to make them healthier but still yummy!
I need to figure out a dairy free version as we could only have this cheesy version last night because my dairy-allergic son was out. I just wonder if it works as well without cheese?
Use spinach and eggplant… could probably use vegan cheese
He's a vegetable dodger and not a vegetarian, just allergic to dairy so I would just need to use oat milk for the white sauce and vegan cheese but not sure it'd turn out nice. Some things are just better with dairy!
If he can have sheep or goat milk, that might be an alternative. Or rice milk, soy milk, cashew, pea... I hope you find something worthwhile!
Feb 2, 2026 20:03He can have soy or oat milk but is allergic to milk protein so no dairy/cheese. But he loves meat so would not want a vegan alternative! I think we just accept some dishes don't work for him!
