- Reposted by Bart LarsenEver wondered how white matter tracts actually map onto the cortical hierarchy and cognition—beyond the usual “projection vs association” labels? Our new preprint tackles exactly that! 🧠✨ doi.org/10.64898/202... Thread below 🧵
- Very happy to share our paper on the "summer slide" in kid's cognitive test scores is out now in @pnas.org! We find a replicable dip in performance across multiple domains of cognition in >23,000 kids across 4 datasets! Check out the 🧵 from @ariellekeller.bsky.social below! 👇
- Our paper on the ☀️ "summer slide" 🛝 is out now @pnas.org! www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/... Summer slide is a replicable phenomenon across diverse datasets that's more than "forgetting" school material in vacation months, but effects of socioeconomic inequality are ➡️ 7x bigger! ⬅️ #PsychSciSky #DevPsy 🧵👇

- Reposted by Bart LarsenIs the “standard workflow” holding back fMRI analysis? Mass-univariate analysis is still the bread-and-butter: intuitive, fast… and chronically overfitted. Add harsh multiple-comparison penalties, and we patch the workflow with statistical band-aids. No wonder the stringency debates never die.
- I can't recommend this fantastic new review from @valeriejsydnor.bsky.social enough! It does an amazing job of synthesizing the current state of the literature and then looking forward to provide a fresh perspective on how to move this work forward in humans. Check it out!
- Happy to share our review "Investigating hierarchical critical periods in human neurodevelopment” in @npp-journal.bsky.social! - Reposted by Bart LarsenI am beyond excited to announce that ggplot2 4.0.0 has just landed on CRAN. It's not every day we have a new major #ggplot2 release but it is a fitting 18 year birthday present for the package. - This paper truly exemplifies what is possible in the modern era of neuroimaging data. A beautiful and extremely impressive piece of work from @valeriejsydnor.bsky.social that was a treat to contribute to. Check it out!

- Reposted by Bart LarsenTonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back. This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008. Also bigger than the 2024 DNC. And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).
