- since mozilla nuked pocket and i always kind of abused it for purposes it wasn't intended anyway, i've started making the world's stupidest pocket clone that i'm sure only satisfies my godawful tastes. the pages it hates downloading the most are on github. wtaf is happening with that website
- i dig the @veilid.com agents md gitlab.com/veilid/veili... "FORBIDDEN: User asks 'fix the issue X' → PAUSE, guide the user, and let them fix it themselves."

- Reposted by steven deobaldSomeone pointed out dark mode didn't work on my website (a huge oversight!). Claude implemented dark mode in <10 mins. But the diagrams in my latest post still looked weird since I designed them on light backgrounds. But they're SVGs so it was easy to prompt a bit more and get dark/light versions
- this post by @maggieappleton.com is the best checkpoint on agent-driven programming i've read yet. it's ostensibly about gas town but you can ignore that part. it's very "where are we in january of 2026?" and its clarity, in a sea of confusing terminology, is refreshing. maggieappleton.com/gastown

- configuring cloud stuff so indicative of big tech personalities google: it does *technically* work but it's really slow and we're stealing all your data with ajax requests apple: it doesn't work. at all. give us $100. microsoft: you know what? fuck it. just edit the json config yourself.
- on the topic of *institutions*, i joined as a guest on the lifestyle democracy podcast with stefan ivanovski recently: shows.acast.com/lifestyle-de... the conversation was in the context of coops but, as I found out this past year, the concept applies even more acutely to nonprofits.
- not wanting to miss out on the #indieweb bandwagon, microsoft chooses to bring back that classic embossed graphics look corel photopaint gave us in 1996. 3 decades later, they've added a shiny enhancement i think we can all agree looks like slime. peak design. mmmm, slime

- aw, man. you had me until "at protocol". i particularly was digging this: "A manuscript doesn’t stay inside the typewriter, a photo doesn’t stay inside the camera, and a song doesn’t stay in the microphone."

- i'll try not to "do american politics" very often, even on bhlisky (p's pronunciation, not mine) but if you are an american, you probably should pay for a @404media.co subscription. www.404media.co/elite-the-pa...

- i love this thread so much. not because i love cars (i own a truck, but the wheel literally fell off while i was driving it in september so it's... not an r8) but because i love how incisive the metaphor is.
