- At today’s UNSC debate on Leadership for Peace, Denmark underscored the importance of UN leadership that builds trust, strengthens reform, and takes bold action to prevent conflict. Leadership is a shared global responsibility.
- Today, Austria and Denmark hosted a signing ceremony on integrated mission-level planning 🇩🇰🇦🇹 41 member states in a joint effort with one goal: to make peace operations more effective; acting as one mission, one team, with one shared direction.
- The UNSC today carried out its first-ever visiting mission to Syria. As co-lead on the mission, 🇩🇰 welcomed progress made over the past year and expressed solidarity with the Syrian people during the transition, urging an inclusive political process. #UNSC stands ready to help.
- Denmark welcomed the recent delisting of Syrian President Al-Sharaa & Interior Minister Anas Khattab, as well as Syria’s engagement in countering ISIL. On the political transition, DK called for a relaunch of the national dialogue & enhanced cooperation with civil society. #UNSC
- Today at the UNSC Open Debate on Working Methods, Denmark delivered a statement as Co-Chair of the IWG 🇩🇰 🇵🇰 “The Council must not only act decisively but also operate in a manner that is transparent, inclusive, and worthy of the confidence of the wider [UN] membership”
- Small arms and light weapons are fuelling conflicts around the world. DK calls for stronger global and #UNSC action to stop the flow of illicit weapons - from better tracing and export controls to support for peacebuilding and protection of civilians. Let’s silence the guns.

- Yesterday, 🇦🇱🇩🇰🇲🇭🇳🇱 as co-chairs of The Group of Friends of Accountability following the Aggression against Ukraine - together with 🇪🇪 and 🇺🇦 - hosted a high-level event on ensuring accountability for Ukraine. DK reiterated our steadfast commitment towards accountability for 🇺🇦
- Today at #UNGA80, leaders gather at the Climate Summit 2025, pushing for climate action toward #COP30 in Belém! 🇩🇰 @larsaagaard.bsky.social reiterated EU’s commitment to climate action and highlighted DK’s system-wide efforts, from energy and industry to transportation and agriculture.
- Today 🇩🇰 State Secretary for Development Policy participated in the Biennial Economic Summit as follow up to Pact for the Future and Sevilla Commitment 🇺🇳 DK focus on reform of International Financial Architecture, new guarantee instruments and support for fair taxation 🌏🌎🌍
- 🇩🇰 Minister for the Interior & Health, Sophie Løhde, spoke at a #UNGA80 side event on people-centred primary care, co-hosted with Tanzania & the World Diabetes Foundation. She stressed that through cross-sector & cross-border cooperation, we can build strong safety nets for all.
- 🇩🇰 today condemned 🇷🇺’s further escalation of its illegal war on 🇺🇦. The ever-increasing drone and missile strikes killing civilians. We all need to increase the pressure on RF with additional sanctions. We need a ceasefire now, direct UA-RF talks and a just and lasting peace.
- Today 🇩🇰 proudly stood with 40 countries to support 🇺🇦’s sovereignty & territorial integrity. We will all keep providing UA with the help it needs to defend itself against RF’s war of aggression. We all call on RF to stop the killing and enter meaningful negotiations with UA.

- Denmark is pleased to support and participate in the opening of the exhibition ‘What If?’ by Maya Lin for ART2030 at the United Nations 🇺🇳 The important artwork raises awareness of and inspires action on the interconnected issues of climate, nature, health, and hope.
- Yesterday, the UNSC’s 10 elected members tabled a resolution demanding: • An immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire • The immediate and unconditional release of all hostages • Immediate, safe and unhindered humanitarian aid at scale Regrettably, that resolution was vetoed.
- Last Friday, our Ambassador opened the Austrian–Danish event on integrated mission-level planning. Whole-of-mission planning = stronger mandate implementation and impact in the field. #UN #PeaceOperations
- Today in the UNSC, DK condemned the violation of PL airspace by drones from RF & BY. This dangerous and reckless escalation is deeply concerning and completely unacceptable. It is also a reminder that RF’s war of aggression against UA threats peace and stability across Europe.
- Denmark underlined the need for the rapid and secure destruction of Syria’s remaining chemical weapons in today’s UNSC-meeting. Denmark supports the OPCW and the Syrian transitional government in completing this important task.
- The #UNSC renewed the sanctions regime on Sudan until 12 September 2026. DK voted in favour & called for full compliance w. the embargo & other measures. Continued suffering of the Sudanese, especially in El Fasher & Kordofan, requires decisive action by UNSC & intl. community.
- In August, Denmark served as #UNSC E10-Coordinator. As Coordinator, we facilitated E10 discussions on Ukraine, Gaza, Libya and South Sudan, revised and launched the E10 Handbook, & concluded with a meeting of E10 Ambassadors & Secretary-General António Guterres, hosted by the 🇩🇰 PR Amb. Lassen.
- Congratulations to the five newly elected incoming members of the UN Security Council 2026-27🇺🇳 🇧🇭 Bahrain 🇨🇴 Colombia 🇨🇩 The Democratic Republic of the Congo 🇱🇻 Latvia 🇱🇷 Liberia As a member of #UNSC 2025-26, Denmark 🇩🇰 looks forward to our close cooperation next year.
- At #UNSC today, 🇩🇰 urged all actors in South Sudan to recommit to the Peace Agreement, engage in dialogue, & put the people first. Military action is not the way forward. Denmark fully supports UNMISS, AU, IGAD efforts for peace, and emphasized importance of non-interference.
