WE ARE SO BACK
CDOT just upgraded two older “lightweight” Divvy stations in Little Village to brand new stations (despite the snow!):
📍 California Blvd & 29th St
📍 Komensky Ave & 31st St
😍 thank you
@davidpowe.bsky.social, Divvy, and the crews that install & maintain the stations & fleet. a big deal for Pullman, Roseland, and the whole far south side. come down and see for yourself! the loop to old fashioned donuts at 113th/Michigan is now possible in 30 minutes via metra and divvy.
The Kensington Metra station in Pullman now has a Divvy station! Formerly the busiest Metra station without a Divvy station, it’s a big win for this high-ridership transit hub.
Appreciate
@williamreed.bsky.social for continually flagging this gap and helping push it forward.

Chicago's newest electrified Divvy charging station is live outside of Ogilvie at Clinton/Washington! This was the 4th busiest Divvy station in Chicago last year. Electrified stations make service more reliable. We've got dozens more of these planned for 2026.

What a great visualization--while ridership is still far below 2019, it's notable that, especially ex-winter, 2025 saw meaningful growth over 2024
Despite the snow coming down, the Divvy team was out "densifying" the station at Washington/LaSalle outside of City Hall. This station was originally installed in Aug 2025 with 19 docks and exploded in use. There are now 30 Divvy docks in this tiny space!

4.8% of all Divvy trips in 2025 crossed the Kinzie Bridge.
As far as I can tell, it’s the single busiest block of bikeway for Divvy users in Chicago. More than the Lakefront Trail which doesn't allow scooters.
Chicago's newest Divvy station is live at Kimball & Wrightwood in Logan Square! This on-street station fills a key gap in a dense neighborhood where cyclist is booming. More docks means and more devices where folks need them most.
Elaine worked for years to build the coalition that passed NITA. She is a legend and a hero!

Another day, another densified Divvy station! We've increased dock capacity at Washington & Wabash by 50% without taking up any additional space. This is important downtown where there is limited public right of way.

Chicago’s newest densified Divvy bikeshare station is live in Fulton Market! Divvy had 5,000+ rides yesterday. Despite the cold, we are still booming and growing.

The protected bike lanes on Grand Ave are genuinely life-changing for me. Can’t wait for the extension from Damen to Ogden!
Logan Square has a new Divvy station location at Armitage/Drake! As you can see, it's not a brand new station. When we upgraded a busy Printer's Row station on Monday, we brought the older station to a new home here. We're filling a gap where cycling is booming - even in the winter.

After strong rider feedback, one of Chicago’s busiest Divvy stations has been densified. We increased capacity by 50% today at the long-standing Federal & Polk station outside Dearborn Station in Printer’s Row 🚲
Nearly 10,000 Divvy rides yesterday (1/12/26), despite a low of 27°F. Chicagoans don’t stop biking just because it’s cold 🚲
Chicago's newest Divvy station is live in Logan Square at Monticello/Diversey! Couldn't be happier with the placement on-street without taking up any sidewalk space.
Another new Divvy station is live at Milwaukee/Wolfram in Avondale. This station will support booming ridership along Milwaukee Ave in Avondale and Logan Square.

Combined Divvy + Lime exceeded 60K trips/day on dozens of summer Fridays & Saturdays in 2025, with two days topping 70K+!
Weekend peaks are where system limits show up fastest: full/empty stations & rebalancing pressure. That data is guiding where we add stations and bike parking in 2026.
Are there any cities you’re aware of that have excellent programs for tagging and retrieving bikes that have been abandoned?
@stevevance.net @ronythebikeczar.bsky.social my last post was worded in a confusing way which is why I deleted it
Bike parking corrals can function as curb extensions when placed in the daylight zone of intersections. They improve sightlines, shorten pedestrian crossings & slow turning vehicles. CDOT has been installing these citywide this winter ahead of peak riding season 2026.
Another older, lightweight Divvy station has been retired & upgraded to a brand new full-service bikeshare docking station. This one is at Lawndale Ave & 16th St in North Lawndale. This upgrade means the station supports e-bikes, scooters AND pedal bikes!
