- Not a fan of the Atlantic, but this article is just fantastic. The most common comment in my student reviews has been that they enjoyed where I taught socratic method with no slides. (Big caveat: I do very nice, supportive socratic! There are no attempts to embarass students in my method!)
- Reposted by Dan RohdeThe Montreal Canadiens are playing the Minnesota Wild in Minneapolis tonight. The players have been recommended to stay in/eat at the hotel, take the team bus to the arena, and carry passports. Perhaps we shouldn't be hosting the World Cup and the Olympics...

- I'm sorry, but Stranger Things should've ended with season 4.

- The Social Credit Party was the elected govt of Alberta for 36 years. Social Credit Theory believed the capitalist economy systemically and chronically decreased the amount of spending power available, leading to collapsing commodity prices and regular financial crises. /

- Truisms can be useful.
- On paper, this seems odd. In reality, the system is considerably more democratic than the US. I know that's not exactly saying much these days, but it was even before this fascist encroachment!
- I don't know the answers to these questions, but I strongly feel that this is a time for countries with lesser reserves currencies (euro, cad, etc...) to use this extra financial space. At the very least, people are going to want to hedge. Why not take advantage of that!?

- There is too much to say here for this website! Carney says many true things. He also does little about it with his domestic agenda. He also benefited greatly from the "useful lie" he's calling out, and yes I mean him personally. when did Canada stand up for those on the other end of these regimes?
- Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "
